Deans POV

"I know you're just doing your jobs, but the police have been here all week already. I don't see why we have to go through this again. The more he tells the story, the more he believes its true." Mrs McKay says to us as we pose as state policeman. We came here because a man had gone missing under suspicious circumstances and that Mrs McKays son had seen what happened.

"Mrs McKay, we know you spoke with the local authorities." Ana says as me and Sam take of our hats. "But, uh, but this seems like a matter for state police, so..." I say, shrugging. "Don't worry about how crazy it sounds, Evan. You just tell us what you saw." Sam says to the young boy.

"I was up late. watching TV. When I heard this weird noise." Evan explains. "What did it sound like?" I ask him. "It sounded like...a monster." He replies and the three of us exchange a look. "Tell the officers what you are watching on TV." Mrs McKay says to Evan. "Um...Godzilla vs. Mothra." Evan says and I smile.

"That's my favourite Godzilla movie. It's so much better than the original, huh?" I say to Evan, excitedly. "Totally." Evan agrees. "Yeah." I say before I nod at Sam. "He likes the remake." I say. "Yuck!" Evan says in disgust as Sam glares at me.

"Evan, did you see what this thing was?" Ana asks him. "No. But I saw it grab Mr Jenkins. It pulled him underneath the car." Evan says. "Then what?" Sam asks him. "It took him away. I heard the monster leaving. it made this really scary sound." Evan says. "What did it sound like, Evan?" Ana asks. "Like this....whining growl." He replies, and the three of us share a look. "Thanks for your time." Sam says before we walk out.

That night at Kugels Keg, Ana, Sam and I are having a beer as Sam does some research and me and Ana play darts. "So local police have ruled out foul play. Apparently, there were signs of a struggle." Sam says. "Well, they could be right, it could just be kidnapping. Maybe this isn't our kind of gig." I say shrugging. "Yeah, maybe not. Except for this - dad marked the area, Dean." Sam says and me and Ana walk over to the table to look at the journal.

"Possible hunting grounds of a phantom attacker." Sam says. "Why would he even do that?" I ask. "Well, he found out a lot of local folklore about a dark figure comes out at night. Grabs people, then vanishes. He found this too- This county has more missing persons per capita than anywhere else in the state." He explains. "That is weird." Ana mutters.

"Don't phantom attackers usually snatch people from their beds? Jenkins was taken from the parking lot." I say. "Well, there are all kinds. You know, spring heeled Jacks, phantom gasses. They take people anywhere, anytime. Look, guys, I don't know if this is our kind of gig either." Sam says. "Yeah, you're right. We should ask around more tomorrow." Ana says.

"I saw a motel about five miles back." Sam says as he pulls out his wallet. "Whoa, whoa. Let's have another round." I say to Sam. "We should get an early start." Sam says. "Ah, c'mon, Sammy." Ana pleads. "Yeah, you really know how to have fun, don't you grandpa?" I tease and Sam smiles.

"Alright, I'll meet you guys outside. I've gotta take a leak." I tell them. "Yeah me too." Sam says as he packs his stuff. "I'll meet you guys by the car." Ana tells us as she grabs her bag and heads outside. Me and Sam go to the bathroom and do our business before we walk outside the bar. We walk to the car and see Ana's stuff on the trunk but not Ana.

Sam looks inside the car and shakes his head at me. "She's not inside." He tells me and I start panicking. "Ana!" I call out but get no reply. "Ana!" Sam shouts out. A group of guys come out of the bar and I look at them. "Hey! Either of you guys see a brunette girl out here about ten minutes ago or so?" I ask them and they shake their heads and walk away.
