Deans POV

"Los Angeles, California." I say as we climb out of the car and walk towards the Roadhouse. "What's in L.A?" Ana asks me. "Young girl's been kidnapped by an evil cult." I tell her. "Yeah? Girl got a name?" Sam asks. "Katie Holmes." I reply and they laugh. "That was funny. And for you, so bitchy." Ana says.

Inside the roadhouse comes the sound of glass breaking and shouting. I turn to Ana and Sam. "Of course, on the other hand - cat fight." I say and Ana rolls her eyes as we walk inside.

We enter cautiously to see Ellen and Jo shouting at each other. "I am your mother, I don't have to be reasonable!" Ellen shouts at her. "You can't keep me here!" Jo snaps back. "Oh, don't you bet on that, sweetie." Ellen growls.

"What are you going to do, are you going to cabin me up in the basement?" Jo asks, angrily. "You know what, you've had worse ideas than that lately. Hey, you don't wanna stay, don't stay. Go back to school." Ellen tells her. "I didn't belong there! I was a freak with a knife collection." Jo says. "Yeah, and getting yourself killed on some dusty back road, that's where you belong?!" Ellen questions then she turns to see us.

"Guys, bad time." She says. "Yes ma'am." Sam and Ana say in unison. "Yeah, we rarely drink before ten anyway." I say. "Wait. I wanna know what they think about this." Jo tells Ellen just as a family of four come in. "I don't care what they think!" Ellen shouts.

"Are you guys open?" The father of family ask. "No!" Jo shouts just as Ellen says. "Yes!"

The family look around nervously. "We'll just...check out Arby's down the road." The father says and they leave. "Awkward." Ana mutters to us when the phone rings.

Jo glares at it, then at Ellen, who stalks over to answer it. "Harvelle's. Yeah, preacher." Ellen answers and Jo turns to us. "Three weeks ago a young girl disappears from a Philadelphia apartment." She says as she shoves a file at me. "Take it, it won't bite." She says. "No, but your mom might." I reply.

She pinches her lips, still holding out the folder and I take it reluctantly. "And this girl wasn't the first. Over the past eighty years six woman have vanished. All from the same building, all young blondes. Only happens every decade or two, so cops never eyeball the pattern. So either we're dealing with one very old serial killer, or-" Jo explains Ana interrupts her.

"Who put this together? Ash?" She asks. "I did it myself." Jo replies proudly and Sam gives her a smile. "Impressive." He says. "It's not that hard to put together a file." Ana grumbles sarcastically and I hide my smirk.

"I gotta admit. We've hit the road for less." Sam says as he looks at the file and Ellen comes over to us. "Good. You like the case so much, you take it." She tells us. "Mom!" Jo yells. "Joanna Beth, this family has lost enough. And I won't loose you too. I just won't." Ellen says and Jo walks of as the three of us exchange a look before we leave.

******

"I feel kind of bad, snaking Jo's case." Sam says once we enter the apartment building in Philadelphia. "Yeah, maybe she put together a good file. But could you see her out here working one of these things? I don't think so." I say as we pull out our EMF meters.

"You guys getting anything?" I ask them. "Nope." Ana replies. "No, not yet." Sam says as he runs his meter over the light switch, it purrs. He leans over. "What's that?" He asks. "What?" Ana and I say as he starts to touch the black goo on the wall.

"Holy crap." Sam whispers as Ana and I touch the goo as well. "That's ectoplasm." Ana says astonished. "Well, guys, I think I know what we're dealing with here." I say and they look at me. "It's the stay-puff Marshmallow man." I say and Ana rolls her eyes, wiping some ectoplasm on my cheek. "Oh look, he slimed you." She says and I give her a playful glare.
