Abbie
I made myself look like a bloody idiot earlier. I lost it and cried because I couldn't find Derek, Haidyn or Klaus. I let my fear show but thankfully Klaus wasn't around when it happened.
Instead, Derek, Freya and Avery had a front row seat to my breakdown and they have questions. I don't want to answer their questions, but Derek deserves to know why I was so upset.
"Kate!" I groan when Kol barges into my room, looking around like he might catch Derek and I doing something. I'm bloody married and I still can't have a boy in my room. Not that Derek hasn't been staying here, but Kol loves to torture me and barge in.
"What do you want Kol?" I roll over onto my back, blinking a couple times to adjust to the light. I may have been awake, but I was trying to go back to sleep before Haidyn got up.
"Breakfast will be ready shortly and everyone is waiting for you and your boyfriend downstairs." He sneers, like the word disgust him. I hope it does, because husband will probably make his head explode.
"That would be husband." Derek strides out the bathroom, wearing nothing but low-hanging sweatpants. He did stay in here last night and God, I could get used to this. "The wife and I will be down shortly." Derek stops in front of Kol, not backing down from his glare.
If he keeps up this protective, possessive behavior, I'm going to let him show me just how much he owns me.
"I think you might want to learn your place where my sister is concerned and stay in it." Oh God. I've been reading too much smut, because that was dirtier in my head than he intended it.
"I think we both know where I belong. I mean you do have a newborn niece, don't you? Now if you don't mind, I'd like to go back to it before we eat breakfast." Bloody hell. As much as I want to take him up on the offer, instead I'm jumping up to save him.
"We'll be downstairs in a minute." I shove Kol out the door, putting up a boundary spell because I know he'll come busting back in here if I don't.
Spinning around to face Derek, I let out a slow breath and shake my head. "As much as I appreciate you standing up for me, you really should be more careful on who you pick arguments with. He could've killed you and done it without a second thought." He just stares at me, like he's thinking he could take him.
Is that a guy thing? Thinking they could take anything to cross their path, and win? Derek could give Kol a good fight, but I don't think Derek would win because Kol doesn't always play fair.
I'm about to go get dressed, when Derek grabs my hip, jerking me towards him and digging his fingertips into my skin. Normally I would fight back, but after his talk with Kol and him still being shirtless, I find myself focusing on the warmth of his skin and the slowly tightening grip on me.
"I'm not going to let anyone, especially your family, diminish anything we have." His fingers dig deeper, making me have to bite back a moan. "The same way I'm not going to become a liar." I raise an eyebrow, not sure when he was called a liar and then it hits me.
"Oh." I can feel my face heat and blood run cold. I would love nothing more than to mount him where he stands, but they're all waiting.
He dips down, gently brushing his lips against mine in warning, before grabbing the back of my neck and crushing our lips together.
Breaking the kiss, he mutters the few words to make me pose my resolve. "Get on the bed and don't even think about arguing with me." He releases me, smacking my ass so hard, I swear it echoes through the house. I can't stop the moan that leaves my lips, reminding me that we need a silencing spell.
"Light the candle by the door." I whisper, walking over to the bed, stripping off my clothes. He lights it without question, before spinning around and looking at me. His eyes are hungry as they trail over my naked body, so I make a show of crawling onto the bed.
I swing my hips, wiggling my ass as I get comfortable in the middle of the bed. It's like something snaps inside of him, before he's jumping on top of me and his lips attack every inch of my skin.
