Abbie
Klaus catches Avery's body, before shifting her and carrying her bridal style. "When will the spell wear off?" He asks, passing me. I fall into step with him, thankful for a distraction. "I'll keep it in place until you get home. If you need it longer, I'm sure Freya can help."
He nods, taking her out of the house. Rebekah passes by, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek and rubbing my arms with a soft smile.
Kol walks up, a huge grin on his face, probably from stealing Haidyn from Rebekah. He stops beside me, not saying anything as Elijah approaches.
"Can we expect you home soon?" I bite the inside of my cheek and shake my head. "I have a few more things to iron out here. I'll call if I change my mind." He nods, then nods to Kol before walking out.
I turn to Kol, ready to get Haidyn from him, but he wraps his arms around her tighter. "You'll have to kill me before I give her up." I smile, glancing back when I hear Klaus' car start up.
"You don't have a choice or else they'll leave you."
"They're leaving without me anyways." My brows pinch together, as Elena, Caroline and Bonnie as say a quick goodbye and shut the door behind them.
Turning back to Kol, he picks up where he left off. "I'm staying for a couple days. I let myself into your place and settled in."
"Of course you did." I roll my eyes, making his smile widen. "I figured you could use the help, I could use more time with this little one.." he bounces Haidyn, watching as she smiles, before looking back at me. "And I figured you and Davina could use a buffer to work out your differences."
My shoulders deflate and that crushing feeling in my chest returns. "She doesn't want to see me, Kol." He huffs out a laugh, shaking his head. "She said the same thing when I mentioned the trip." He doesn't even acknowledge my lack of surprise, before continuing.
"I'm not allowing my two favorite girls to hate each other over a lose-lose situation. Take tonight and calm down from all the excitement.." he smiles, placing a hand on my shoulder and giving it a shake. "Then we'll discuss everything over breakfast." He brings his head back up, looking at the wall behind me.
"And that invitation wasn't extended to anyone else." He calls back at the obvious on-lookers. I roll my eyes and nearly groan from how messy this all is. "He's staying at the house. I can't just kick him out." His face pinches.
"First of all, it's your house. Second, he'll go wherever the bloody hell I tell him, because he has no right to anything you do when he's the one who wants a divorce." I knock his arm away, feeling the flicker of anger spark inside of me.
"Don't start." I warn, going to grab Haidyn, but he steps back. "I've got her tonight. Finish up here and I'll see you in the morning." With that he grabs my car keys by the door and leaves, making me wish I was leaving with him.
I mean.. I could. Stefan would understand and I don't owe Derek or Damon any type of explanation. I should just leave before this can get any worse and hope they both just hate me and move on.
Yeah. Because you're a huge fan of being hated and ignored.
Shoving away my doubt and hesitation, I walk back into the living room, going over to Stefan. He's the one person I know won't fight me on this and that I can actually stand to talk to right now.
I mean, really.. what did Derek think would happen when he said he wanted to forget and take everything back we had? I'm the one trying to make everything better. He's the one dead set on giving me hell every step of the way. Shouldn't I be the one hating him?!
