7 hours later

"Thank you." I shut the can door, looking at the house. White painted brick, ivy trailing from one end to the other, while the yard is littered with dead leaves and branches. It's very.. unappealing.

But who needs appealing when you plan to burn it all to the ground? Figuratively speaking, of course. Well.. maybe. Burning down the house might be how I leave my final mark on this town. Go out with a burn or whatever.

Pushing open the front door, I'm appalled at the vast difference the exterior has to the interior. Polished hardwood floors, ornate wallpaper and gold accents line the foyer.

I'm not too surprised though. I knew to expect the best when I made this arrangement. I mean.. What else do you expect from Katherine Pierce?

"In here." I follow the voices through the house, coming from the kitchen. I walk in and lean against the door. Katherine stands at the island, pouring a glass of wine, while some guy sits at the island, munching on a bag of pork rinds.

"I expected a manicured lawn, a pool with the pool boy." She smiles, looking up at me, holding the glass out. "Don't be a snob. It doesn't look good on you."

I walk over, taking the glass. "I look good in everything." I smile, taking a sip. I turn to the unknown in the room, smiling. "I'm-.."

"Avery Harris. No need for introductions with your reputation." He smiles easily at me, dusting his hand off and offering it out to me. I take it. "Kai Parker. Current town villain." I snort into my glass.

"Kai, here, has been trying to kill the elusive Bonnie. Apparently she left him all alone in a prison world." Katherine forces a frown, making me smile. Kai scoffs, taking a drink from his own glass.

"Her and Damon betrayed me. I think that condones a little violence."

"Something tells me you don't need a reason to do that." He leans onto the counter, his smile widening. "So you've heard about me?" I roll my eyes, setting my glass down. "Don't flatter yourself. I know your type."

"I heard I'm just your type." I glance at Katherine, who's trying to hide her smile behind her glass. Looking back at him, I smile sweetly. "Then you'll be sad to hear that I learned my lesson and want Klaus Mikaelson dead."

His eyes widened, leaning away. "Woah. I'm all for chaos.. but that's a little more than I signed up for."

"We're not fighting that hybrid freak or his family. I'd rather we steer clear of them." Katherine grumbles, finishing off her glass. I smile, tilting my head. "You're not still scared of Klaus are you?" Her eyes narrow at me, before she looks away and pours another glass.

"No. I only agreed to this, because you promised Stefan would be mine."

"And he will be. As soon as I kill Damon and Elena." I tap my glass with hers. "And Bonnie." Kai leans over, grabbing the bottle and tapping it against ours and then taking a big swig.

"Classy." I roll my eyes, finishing off my drink and dropping the glass in the sink. "I'm gonna go pick a room and unpack. We can recon and plan tomorrow." They both nod as I leave and head upstairs.

Picking a room, I go in and drop my stuff on the bed, before going to the double doors that lead to a balcony.

Stepping out on it, I look out into the woods, smiling to myself. Just through these woods, the Salvatore Boarding House sits. They have no idea what we have in store with them and I can't wait for them to find out.

More importantly, I can't wait for Abbie to hear Damon is dead and Klaus no longer has a doppelgänger to make his precious hybrids.
