Avery
Abbie looks throughly fucked when her and Derek come downstairs for breakfast. I'm all for it, but Kol and Klaus are fuming. We just sat down for breakfast, so it's not like we had to wait. It's strictly because Abbie is glowing and smiling so freely. I wonder if she'll still be smiling when she notices I'm still here.
"How nice of you both to finally join us." Klaus' sarcastic tone drips of venom. Abbie glances over at him, before shrugging. "It took me a minute to wake up. It's been nice not having to wake up multiple times a night with two kids." Klaus' face softens, which is weird considering she's clearly referring to her look. I wonder if she purposefully came down like that.
"Well, I'd keep that in mind the next time you two decide to keep us waiting." Klaus glares at his omelet, before aggressively cutting into it. Is he really letting go of a fight, because what? Because Abbie took care of Hope for a few months?
Don't get me wrong.. I'm glad he did, but that's never stopped him before. Abbie has always done his bidding and gotten him everything he's wanted. Now he just lets things go? He's planning something and I don't like it.
Even though Klaus has let it go, Kol never promised he would. Leaning into the table, he stares daggers at Derek. "Maybe you should learn the house rules before you fondle my sister. Just because you married her, doesn't give you a right to do as you please with her."
"Enough, Kol!" Abbie warns, looking around the table till she lands on me. More so, the little girl in my arms. I stop my rocking, meeting her gaze. "Do you want her? I grabbed her on my way down this morning." Her eyes narrow slightly, as she sits back in her seat and shakes her head.
Is she letting it go and accepting me here? Or is she picking her battles for now and as soon as she deals with Kol and Klaus, she's going to lay into me?
"So all I have to do is get married and then I can be allowed to have a boy stay in my room?!" Rebekah scoffs. Klaus and Kol's head whip towards her. "Absolutely not. From now on, there will be no sharing rooms for anyone." Klaus stabs his fruit, popping it into his mouth, as he dares anyone to argue.
"You and Avery were never married and shared a room. You got a girl pregnant after a one night stand, but you expect us to live by that rule?" Abbie snorts, shaking her head. "I'll start following your rules when you do."
Klaus teeth grind, as he slowly turns to look at her. "It seems you had no problem taking any advice from me." He tuts. Abbie's bite freezes midair, as she turns to look at him. "At least I married the father of my child. I would ask if you plan to do the same, but I get the feeling that Hayley isn't that desperate." Hayley snorts between them and I nearly laugh because of it.
Klaus could kill her with the looks he's giving her, but she ignores it, turning to Abbie. "You're right. I'm nowhere near desperate enough to marry him." Abbie hums, poking around at her food. "Glad to see some people can see him for who he is." She doesn't have to say any names or even look at me for me to know who she meant that for.
"One day you'll understand why I never allowed you to date. It's only a matter of time now that he's gotten what he wants." My eyes widen as Abbie's head snaps up to Klaus. Oh this is going to get real bad, real fast.
"Are you implying I'm only with her for one thing?" Every head snaps towards Derek. Oh this is really bad. "Are you saying you're not? You two don't act like newlyweds. Is it safe to assume there's trouble in paradise already?"
"That's because we had to come back here." Abbie mumbles, taking her bite of food. "Or.." Klaus quips, his grin widening. "Maybe he's not sees your not worth the hassle since he's gotten it all so easily!"
