Avery
1 week later"What will it be, Nik? Will you bow down to your better or would you rather choose who dies at your hand?" Klaus' stands before me, looking every bit torn between his choice. It's an impossible choice and I don't want to even think about the outcome of all this. Whether he chooses or not. This doesn't end well.
Abbie refuses to look at me, keeping her eyes glued to the ground, completely resigned from the situation. She tried her best to de-escalate all this, but Lucien wouldn't listen to reason. He couldn't. He told us why he did what he did and in his eyes, we're the monsters. We're the villains in his story and this is how he rights that wrong.
We're the villains in his story and because of that, we're about to lose everything good this family has ever had.
"Abbie," my voice cracks, begging her to look at me. I need her to look at me.
This can't be happening.
It simply can't.
I refuse to believe this is the end for any of us.
But Lucien's hand plunging through Abbie's back and the gargled sounds of her choking on her own blood is proof enough.
No matter what happens.. This is the fall of the Mikaelson's.

Avery
5 days earlierI'm playing with Haidyn in the courtyard when Derek storms into the compound. Abbie is nowhere to be found. They went out for a 'date night' while I kept Haidyn. Him coming back without her sends alarm bells blaring inside my head.
"Hey!" I snap, jumping up and rushing over to him when he ignores me, continuing for the stairs. I push off with all my strength, slamming into him. He hits the wall, glaring daggers at me but I couldn't care less.
"Where the hell is Abbie?" He shoves off the wall, storming past me without a word spoken. Fuck this. Slamming into him again, I clamp my hand around his throat and snarl. "Where the fuck is she Derek?! She shouldn't be out there alone!"
His hand comes up between us, his hand clamping around my throat and squeezing with a strength I didn't even know he possessed. Lifting me off my feet, he walks me back into the courtyard, his eyes wild and blazing with anger.
"DEREK!" I choke out, kicking my feet, clawing at his hands, but nothing is phasing him. Nothing is getting through to him.
"Oh my God!" My vision starts to blur as I see Freya rush down the steps, before flicking her wrist. We both drop down to the ground, as I gasp for breath, staring at Derek's lifeless body.
What the bloody hell was that?!
"AVERY!" Kol drops down beside me, looking me over. When he realizes I'm fine, he looks over at Derek and snarls. "That was his last breath he'll ever take." His arm jerks back, ready to plunge into Derek's chest and rip out his heart.
I don't even think, I just throw my body into his, landing rougher than I would've preferred after being choked out.
"Get off of me, Avery. He's dying today!" Kol pushes me off of him, but I quickly grab him, shoving him in the chest. "No! That wasn't Derek. I don't know what that was, but he was much stronger than what he normally is." His head jerks back, his scowl deeping. "If he's attacking you, then he needs to be put down, Avery. Get out of my way!"
He shoves me off of him, jumping up to his feet. I scramble to mine and blurt. "Abbie's missing!!" Freya and Kol's heads snapped towards me, looking at me like I sprouted a second head. "What?!"
