Klaus

"I can't find Abbie, Haidyn or Derek anywhere." Freya announces as she enters the kitchen. Rebekah and Elijah both glare at me, but I keep my attention on Hope.

Everyone but Freya was out yesterday when Abbie stormed out and when Derek came back to pack their things.

When Rebekah came home and checked Abbie's room, I informed her that she left to go bring our brother back, she didn't ask any more questions. I wasn't going to just willingly tell her she left because of me. I didn't even believe she really left until it was two in the morning and she hasn't come back.

Now I don't know what to tell them. I could twist it to look like Derek started it, which he did, but Rebekah would call bullshit and ask Abbie herself. It might be best if I just stay quiet about it and let them assume she just left.

"Hey! Sorry I'm late." Cami breathes out, slightly brightening my mood. She's been nice to have around here, but it's not today. Today, I wear the guilt of hurting Abbie, which she had no problem pointing out yesterday.

To see her so broken and lost.. It gutted me. To see her torn between her family and him, it made me murderous. How can she possibly think he could give her what we can? What we have!

He'll just hurt her like the other guys she's fallen for and then we'll have to clean up the mess. What is it about him that she thinks is worth losing her family over?

"Nik!" Rebekah snaps her fingers in my face, souring my mood more. "What, Rebekah?" I growl, flipping Hope around to sit on my lap. "I asked if Abbie unpacked?"

"She took everything up to her room. Although her and Derek went to separate rooms." Freya answers her. This is my chance. I can put it all on him and get them off my back.

"How are her and Derek? I wanted to ask him when I saw him at the bar last night, but he left before I could." Cami frowns. Elijah is still staring at me, while they continue to try and figure out this pointless mystery.

"He was at the bar? I'm surprised he left Haidyn here." Rebekah shakes her head. He didn't want to leave her here. Abbie forced him to leave, right before I made it worse. "Yeah. He looked upset, but we were swamped and by the time I made it back over to him, his drink was empty and there was a twenty on the bar." Cami shrugs again.

"I wonder why she and Kol didn't come back?" Freya wonders out loud, but before anyone could say anything else, more voices sound from the courtyard.

"Don't tell me I missed the party?" Rebekah and Freya's faces light up, as they race to Kol. I get up and follow them, Hope squirming in my arms, so I set her down when we get there, watching her toddle over to Kol. No Abbie.

They all hug and greet each other, before Kol dips down and picks up Hope. "Hello, Darling. Where's your sidekick?" Rebekah steps back, confusion plastered across her face.

"Abbie's not with you?" Kol's brows furrow. "No? She brought me back and I woke up in the church attic." Davina fidgets behind him, keeping her eyes on the ground. That's quite interesting, because Abbie wouldn't have missed an opportunity to see Kol.

"Wait.. she brought you back, but you didn't see her? Why? Where is she?!" Rebekah looks between me, Kol and Davina, who's still not looking any of us in the eyes. "How am I supposed to know, Bex? I literally returned to the land of the living 12 hours ago." Kol tuts.

Freya glares at Davina, before shifting on her feet and crossing her arms over her chest. "Why would Abbie direct you to the church, when she's been doing everything to bring you back?" She doesn't wait for either of them to answer before looking at me. "Why would she come home for Hope's birthday and bring Kol back, but not come home?"
