Klaus

For once, a plan was successful and everything didn't backfire onto me. Well, not entirely. Elijah is still rather beside himself over being left in the dark. Hayley got everything that was coming to her and Avery..

Well I plan to deal with Avery the second she arrives here. Marcel is bringing her here, at Rebekah's request. He isn't too fond of me right now either, but he'll get over it, much like Elijah will.

Abbie, on the other hand, doesn't deserve any of this. I never thought I wouldn't be celebrating a win with few messes to clean up, all because they fell to Abbie.

It didn't start when we arrived here either. No. I spoke with Rebekah, who informed me that Davina ripped Abbie a new one, before comparing her to me. As much as I would love to admit Abbie indulged in my tendencies to get this settled, she's nothing compared to me.

Abbie has a dark side that you have to dig so deep to reach, whereas I wear mine like a coat. Davina hurting her like that, will only get her the same retribution.

After Davina, things kept piling on. She learned Avery flipped her switch, Haidyn will be as powerful and equally destructive as Hope could be, and then Derek transitioned and shortly after, threatening to leave her.

Oh yes, we heard their lovers spat in the backyard, where Rebekah promptly told me to mind my own business and let them work it out. I'm assuming nobody gave the older Salvatore the same message, because I heard everything he said in Abbie's defense.

If I didn't already have to kill a witch and a werewolf.. I wouldn't have minded adding a vampire to the mix, because he dares to still have feelings for her.

Like now, I watch as Abbie absentmindedly prepares dinner, almost robotically, with Damon glued to her side.

Not just Damon either. Stefan is the one actually helping her, while Damon whispers to her, trying to make her smile. If it wasn't for her smile, I'd grab hold of his tongue and wrap it around his throat, watching as the life slowly left his body.

But she is smiling, and as pained as it may be, it means she's not completely gone. If he can stop my sister from slipping into that dark place inside her head, then he'll continue to breathe on his own. The second she's better, then I finally get to rid him of our lives.

I take another sip of my scotch, I don't take my eyes off of them. They move so effortlessly together, except when Damon purposefully gets in Abbie's way, or steals whatever she's cooking.

She's making my favorite dish. Lasagna with extra garlic. I've found myself stealing from the pan a time or two, and each time she would hit my hand with her wooden spoon. Much like she's done to Damon each time, but he never learns.

I may have been selfish in the past, when I would lock Abbie away in the house, but if she was home, she would cook. Abbie's cooking is nothing short of perfection.

You put that with one of Avery's desserts.. Well, you could guess why I kept those two so close to home. It's a wonder none of us have gained an ounce, even with our supernatural metabolism. Avery and Abbie in the kitchen is deadly, even without the rat poison I'm sure they've thought about a few times.

"It smells so good in here. How is it not done yet?" Rebekah huffs, dropping into the chair beside me. I smile as I take another drink, trying to curve the urge to steal a bite while Abbie's cooking.

"You know how Abbie is. She likes to take her time in the kitchen. It's her idea of prolonged torture." She hums, taking a sip of her wine. "And you're sitting here waiting.. why?" I slowly look to her.

"I'm assuming the same reason as you. Waiting patiently for dinner."

"You've been here the entire time she has." Her eyes flicker over to our sister but she smiles and looks back at me. "More accurately, since they've been in here." I roll my eyes and swirl the amber liquid around in my glass.
