Avery
Let's take a shot every time I say 'love-sick idiot' because I'm trapped in a house with four of them. Well, three love-sick idiots and Abbie. She's love-sick, but not an idiot.. or at least one I'll admit to out loud.
In the last few hours, Stefan got all of us together surrounded by totes and bins brimming with Christmas decorations. I get decorating for the holidays, but two days before and this much stuff?! I was ready to tell them to piss off.
Then he muttered those three little words and all of us snapped into gear. 'Abbie needs this.' It was like a switch flipped for all of us and Damon became this holiday nazi. Barking orders, baking cookies and singing Christmas carols. I thought about running him over with a sleigh a few times when he made me rearrange the ornaments on the tree to be aesthetic.
He almost ended up with a prosthetic finger if he shoved it in my face one more time.
Now I'm being forced to stay here for game night, instead of going back to Abbie's to take advantage of her hot tub and drink up all her wine. That is the least I deserve after today.
"It looks like a Christmas movie in here." Caroline breathes out, passing me a fresh glass of wine, taking in the house. "Seriously, how did you get the guys to do this?" She looks at me and I take a sip of wine to hide my smile.
I have no legitimate reason to hate Caroline. Klaus' obsession with her isn't her fault, but it doesn't mean I like it. I actually despise the fact that he found this obsession while we were together.
But we're not holding grudges over men who aren't worth it.
At least, that's what I think Abbie would say. It's a good thing I'm not her and her best friend is the perfect person to take a cheap shot at.
"Oh, this..?" I look around, before looking back at her and shrugging. "Derek, Stefan and Damon wanted to do something nice for Abbie. You know.. since she lost her family."
Elena and Caroline's mouth both drop open, and I take my win as that. Call it petty or childish, but I'm not here to make them feel better. I'm here to make sure they both stay out of Abbie's way when she finally realizes what she wants.
Whenever the hell that may be.
"Well that didn't take long for the claws to come out." Tyler snorts. I roll my head to look at him, a sinister smile stretching across my face. "That's nothing. Are you sure you want to be here when Abbie catches you sneaking around? I heard it got a bit messy last time." His eyes narrowed a fraction, his jaw clenched.
Checkmate, bitch.
"What happened last time?" Elena looks between us. "Abbie left without saying goodbye. Nothing happened." Caroline argues. I bring my attention back to her, ready to burn his world down when a hand smacks me upside the head. "Don't you start your shit, Aves." Abbie scolds, standing beside the chair I'm sitting in.
Damon's chair. I can't wait to see the tantrum he throws. Payback is a bitch.
"We're good, right, Lockwood?" I look up at her and then Tyler, giving him a look, daring him to refuse her insane peace offering. I swear I'll be bored to tears if shit doesn't get stirred around here.
"Yeah.. we're good, Mikaelson."
"Great. Now that that's behind us, let's play some games."
"Uh, last time we played a game with Avery, she tried to kill you, Damon, Derek and Bonnie." Caroline points out. I roll my eyes, leaning up and smiling at her. "I'll gladly include you this time if you felt left out last time."
