Avery

"They're almost ready to start." Hayley calls as she descends the stairs. Her eyes land on me and soften. Yeah.. I know. I'm still not allowed around Abbie or anything they're planning. It fucking sucks.

Derek and Marcel both nod, getting up. Hayley comes over to me. "We'll keep you updated."

"Not if Dahlia is still controlling her." Derek states, walking past us. She cuts her eyes to him and sighs. "He's in a mood because of Jackson." I roll my eyes. Derek always seems to be in a mood. "I'll talk to him."

"Don't worry about it. I have nothing to prove to him." Her lips thin, but she doesn't say anything. Instead, she waits around until Elijah joins us. Apparently I'm not allowed to be left alone.

"I'm going out. Call me if you need me." Elijah nods, the corner of his out turning down as she grabs her bag and keys. "You should really tell her how you feel." He looks over at me, his eyes softening.

"You should take your own advice." He takes a seat, grabbing one of his books off of the table, leaving me confused by what he just said. I should take my own advice? With who?

I'm too tired to begin to understand him, so I just make myself comfortable on the couch and close my eyes.

They haven't been in Abbie's room for more than 5 minutes, when the door opens and Marcel's voice filters through.

"Wait.. you're being followed?" Radio silence, so I listen to the other end. "Yeah I keep passing by the same building and people. I swear I've done it at least five times."

"Where exactly are you? I can have my guys meet you if needed." Marcel's voice sounds panicked, straining to remain calm. I look over to Elijah, seeing him already looking and listening to Marcel. "No need. If you can just tell me how to get back from the bar on Bourbon and St. Louis."

Elijah gets up, nodding his head, so I follow, figuring I have to go where he goes. Marcel glances between us, before shaking his head. Seriously?!

"You should pass St Anne's church. I have a friend there that can help you." Davina? Davina is involved in this?! "Got it. I'll let you know where to meet up for dinner." Dinner?! What the hell is going on?!

Marcel hangs up, stepping over to Elijah, but I'm quicker and cut him off. "Why is Damon calling you and why is he being followed?!" His eyes narrow, before they look over my head. I spin around to Elijah, as he just takes a deep breath and puts his hands in his pockets.

"What the hell aren't you telling me? Why is Damon here and why do you sound nervous?!" I shriek, feeling my anger start to get the better of me. I've been doing good about keeping it in check. Well, aside from trying to kill Derek yesterday, but.. actually, I don't have an excuse for it.

"Relax, Avery." Klaus huffs, coming over and grabbing my arm. "You two go and handle it. I'll keep her with me."

"Keep me with you?! Like hell am I going to be left in the dark again." I shout, as Klaus drags me upstairs. I really need to start feeding again. I'm way too weak and my veins constantly feel like they're on fire.

We make it to the top of the steps, when Klaus jerks me into his chest, his face in mine. "If I want you in the dark, then that's where you'll stay." My eyes narrow, and I hate the way I want to back down and obey him like some little pet.

"Now either do as I say, or I can lock you inside the cellar and leave you there to rot." My jaw tightens.

I swear to God, if I had the strength, I'd show him just who would be rotting in the basement. I've done nothing to deserve to be treated like this and I'm over it.
