Hey. Is there any way you could come help me with something?Abs
Did you purposefully wait till the end of my shift to ask?Scott
I didn't want you to worry? If not, it's fine.. It's really not a big deal.
Abs
It's fine. I'll be at your house in 15 minutes. Use my card and order some food. Preferably Chinese or Italian.Scott
Uh.. I'm kinda at Derek's loft. Can you just meet me here?I can still order some food tho.
Abs
...Order the food, Scott and I hope you enjoy it, because it'll be your last.
Scott
Got it. I'll see you when you get here.❣️
I enter the loft, slamming the door a little harder than I meant to, making Lydia and Scott flinch. "Yep. That's our cue to go." Lydia grabs Parrish's arm, as he grabs their food and heads towards me.
"Try not to kill them." I force a smile, kissing her cheek when she passes me and does the same. It's such a Lydia thing and I hate that I've gotten used to it. "You look great, Abs. How much longer do you have?" I smile over at Parrish. "Too long." I sigh, waving to them as Lydia drags them away.
When the door shuts, I slowly turn back to Derek and Scott, trying to decide which I'm going to kill first.
"We should eat." Scott motions to the food on the table, taking a seat and digging through the bags to avoid looking at me. Derek on the other hand doesn't back down. He stares at me and then his eyes drop to my stomach and his jaw tightens.
Deciding to avoid that argument, I walk over and take a seat next to Scott. He passes me my plate, offering a small smile but I don't return it. They know Derek and I had a falling out. Obviously, they don't know why and I intend to keep it that way. I don't need anyone else knowing I'm carrying his kid.
"So how was work? Mom said you had a big surgery today." Derek grunts, as he moves to sit across from us. I don't even bother looking at him. I should've known this was a trap to begin with.
"It wasn't too bad. Just a triple bypass I was handed in the last 2 hours of my shift." I look over at him, seeing his brows pinch together. "It can be as quick as 3 hours or run about 6 like it today." He nods, focusing back on his food.
"Did you at least have a break today?" Derek asks, but I can hear the anger in his voice. I nod, taking my first bite, before looking up at him and swallowing.
"Why did you need me here?" Scott's head whips up and my guards go back up. So whatever it is.. I'm not going to like.. great.
"Uh.." Scott starts, looking between Derek and I. I tilt my head, waiting for him to quit floundering and spit it out.
"Are you really married?" Derek finally spits out, completely catching me off guard. Married? Why would he thi-.. Fucking Peter.
I roll my eyes, scooping up another bite of food. "We just noticed you never wear a ring. Was Peter wrong?" Scott asks carefully. I look over at him and give him a duh look. "Of course Peter was wrong. Have I proven Peter right of anything he accused me of?!"
