Avery

You know, I think I've been looking at my time with the family all wrong. For example..

Abbie and Derek. It's been two days since Thanksgiving and they're currently not speaking to each other. I'm not sure who initiated that, but it's led to them sleeping in separate rooms.

Next, we have Hayley and Elijah. Or maybe it's Hayley and Klaus. No, Elijah is definitely involved somehow. So we'll go with Hayley, Elijah and Klaus. Enough said, right?

Hayley and Abbie are still walking on eggshells around each other, which only pisses Elijah off more. He doesn't say anything, but we all know he is. Klaus on the other hand, couldn't care less if his child's mother and sister got along. As long as they don't kill each other. I think that's the only reigning rule. I could be wrong.

While Abbie's ignoring Derek, Derek has been getting awfully close with Hayley. Not in a touchy feely way, but they're always together, talking, laughing, whatever else around the compound. That one might be a win-lose situation. While Klaus and Abbie aren't talking to Elijah, all three of them glare daggers at Hayley and Derek. It's the closest they've come to an agreement in months.

Freya's still finding her footing here, which isn't going too well. She's being too careful around Abbie and Klaus. She needs to realize they don't respond to careful tactics. They respond to chaos and assertion. They'll continue to overlook her, if she doesn't grow a backbone and make them see her.

Circling back to Abbie, Lucien has been showing up more. A vast difference from when Klaus dragged him out of here after the dinner, to holding secret meetings with him and Abbie. That's when Derek glares at the door they went through, as if he could break it with a look. I don't know. The longer they stay in there, the more I believe it to be possible.

Oh and then there's Abbie and Jackson. I'm not 100% sure what happened between them, but he showed up at the compound the day after Thanksgiving with Hayley and things went south. Quick. Hayley has made sure not to allow their paths to cross again, but it's not going to last forever. I swear Abbie constantly comes and goes from the house to taunt him.

Lastly, if Hayley and Elijah don't fuck already.. I think I might slit my own throat like a sacrificial lamb. They dance around each other like they're ready to rip each other's clothes off and then they just walk away. Like what the fuck?!

I thought Klaus was the most stubborn out of the bunch. I'm quickly realizing I've been wrong this whole time.

That's why I've decided to take time out of my day and give each of them a nudge in the right direction. To do that, why not start at the head of the snake?

That's Elijah, right? He's involved in at least 3 of these problems, meaning he takes priority. Then again, so is Klaus, but I'm putting him off for a whole other reason. The thought of being alone with him doesn't sit right with me. I'm not scared of him, I just don't trust either of us to keep our hands to ourselves or our clothes on.

Deciding to get this over with by ripping the band-aid clean off, I barge into the library, thankfully only finding Elijah here. If Abbie had been here, she would've taken my head clean off with a book for interrupting her.

Elijah glances up at me and Haidyn, before returning back to his book. That's right. I brought the cutest reinforcements ever.

"I need your help with something." I march over to him, plucking the book from his hand and dropping Haidyn in his lap. "Avery, I don't have time for this." I toss the book aside and give him a 'really' look. "Not only are you saying you don't have time for your niece, but you don't even know her name? What has gotten into you."
