Klaus

"What is it, Marcellus? I'm busy."

"Who are you with?" I look over to Derek, pounding his fist into some poor guy's face. I'm not saying that gets him in my good graces, but I like his initiative. "Derek. Why does it matter? If you have any information for me, I'd suggest telling me quickly before I rip it out of you." I smile to myself, liking the thought of getting my hands dirtier.

"Maybe you should make a trip over to my place. I have some information, but not what you're expecting."

"We'll be right there." I hang up, starting towards the car, hearing Derek land another punch, before the sound of a neck cracking follows.

When we reach the car, Derek is about to slide into the seat when I stop him. "As much as I appreciate your enthusiasm and love for blood, you will not be getting it all in my car." His eyes narrow, before he rips the shirt off his back and wipe away the blood.

We race towards Marcel's place. We were closer than when we started out, but our leads weren't panning out, so we resorted to questioning anyone who looked suspicious. I'm starting to think Abbie's little friend has a dark side. I can't wait to expose it.

Pulling up to the complex, we make quick work on the steps, before entering. Avery and Davina are in the kitchen talking when Marcel approaches us, cutting me off.

"Don't come in here causing problems. We already have enough as is and I'm about to add one more." I tear my eyes away from Avery, waiting for him to explain. "You both have noticed Avery zoning out and not sleeping?" We both nod.

He shifts on his feet, glancing over at Avery, before crossing his arms over his chest. "Well, she didn't notice it right away, but she thinks Dahlia is inside her head and we both think she might be right."

In her head? What the hell does he mean in her head?! Why would she come to him and not me?

My jaw tightens, as I shoulder past him, going straight for Avery. Avery jumps up, holding out her hands. "Please don't hate me. I swear I was never going to do any of it. I just thought I was angry." I stop in front of her, completely lost by what she's saying.

"Why don't you tell me exactly what's been going on?" Her lip trembles and tears spring in her eyes. She looks away, so I turn to Davina and Marcel. "Either of you care to explain?! Why is it that the people who seem to have a deep sense of hatred towards me know this big secret?!" Davina steps into me, leveling me with a glare.

"You need to understand that everything we're about to tell you, has been done against her will and has manipulated all of you, herself included into believing nothing was wrong."

"Spit it out, before I kill you." I step closer. "And this time you won't have the harvest ritual to save you." Her eyes narrow, as her jaw ticks. "Dahlia has been getting inside of Avery's head, trying to get her to kill all of you." Avery chokes out a sob, as my eyes swing back to her.

Derek is beside me in a second, leveling her with the same deadly glare as me. "You've been trying to kill us?!" He growls. "You betrayed my family after everything?!" I shout.

Marcel is there in an instant, standing between us and Avery. "Don't yell at her. This is exactly what Dahlia wants. She wants each of us to turn on one another, taking each other out. That way she can swoop in and take the girls." I take a step back and then another.

There's no way Dahlia has used Avery to do that. She's been too busy running around town, sending people to threaten us. We've killed each one and I know nobody else has stepped up to challenge us. There's no way Avery has been under her control this entire time.
