Cordelia Lyra Malfoy had always been different from the rest of her family. Her family were blood-supremacists who tried to teach their views to their children. Cordelia never believed with their views and would be punished for it.
She never felt a...

Cordelia's legs were burning and her breath was heavy as she ran up the stairs, but her mind wouldn't let her stop until she reached the seventh floor corridor. Once there, her body froze at the sight before her.
Four men were engaged in a heavy duel. She instantly recognized two of them with their bright red hair. It was Fred and Percy. Their faces were covered in scratches and bruises, but Cordelia could easily recognize their look of determination. Cordelia knew the other men as well. One of the men was none other than the current Minister of Magic, Minister Pius Picknesse. The other was Augustus Rookwood, a man she occasionally saw in passing during her childhood as well as in pictures of Death Eaters shown by Moody during Order meetings.
Spells were being thrown back and forth between the four men, who were dodging in any way they could. Cordelia didn't know how to help as she watched the battle unfold in front of her.
"Minister, did I mention I'm resigning?" Percy yelled as he threw another spell at his former employer. The new Minister dropped his wand and clawed at the front of his robes due to Percy's fire spell catching the man's robe on fire.
"You're joking, Perce!" shouted Fred as Rookwood collapsed under the weight of three separate Stunning Spells.
Thicknesse had fallen to the ground with tiny spikes erupting all over his body; he seemed to be turning into some form of sea urchin due to a new spell from Percy.
Fred looked at Percy with a grin. "You actually are joking, Perce...I don't think I've heard you joke since you were-"
Fred's voice was cut off when a loud boom was heard above the brothers. Rookwood had gotten back to his feet and had sent a Bombarba spell to the ceiling, causing the walls and ceiling to fall around them.
Everything was happening so fast and Cordelia couldn't comprehend the details of what was happening before her eyes . All she could do was let out a blood curdling scream and run towards the explosion, her feet guiding her on auto pilot. She didn't stop running until Fred was shot through the air before landing on the ground in front of her feet.
"Oh Merlin, Fred!" she yelled out as she threw her body onto the ground next to him. Fred's body was still, and he was unresponsive as he laid on the ground. Heavy tears ran down her cheeks, mixing in with the dirt and blood. She rested on her knees, her chest resting on his, as she pushed his hair off his forehead. "Freddie? Please be okay!"
Fred remained on the stone floor, unconscious and unresponsive. Cordelia couldn't control it as more tears poured from her eyes.
"Fred... P-Please wake up," she begged, her breath shaky as her hands went to his cheeks.
She placed a hand gently on his throat, just below his jaw and leaned her head close to his nose. Closing her eyes and holding in a breath, she listened desperately for any sign that he was still alive. After a couple of seconds, she let out a sigh of relief when she was able to feel a pulse, but his breathing was so shallow that she wondered if he was breathing at all.
