Cordelia Lyra Malfoy had always been different from the rest of her family. Her family were blood-supremacists who tried to teach their views to their children. Cordelia never believed with their views and would be punished for it.

It seemed that the majority of the school had taken the twins' lead on causing mayhem in the school. Mail orders from Weasley Wizard Wheezes started showing up by owl during breakfast the very next day. Throughout the day, Fireworks were set off in various parts of the school, and the professors did nothing about it. Professor McGonagall dismissed one of her classes early when flew into her classroom. All of her students knew she could banish it with a flick of her wand, but the professor had no desire to. Professor Flitwick pretended that he couldn't get rid of the swamp in the Entrance Hall. Dungbombs were used at various parts of the day, and no part of the castle was safe from the pranks being set off.
For Cordelia and her friends; however, the weeks without their friends were difficult. Lee was quieter than usual, and his commentary for the Quidditch games lacked the energy and passion they once had. Kiana and Cordelia were grateful that he already had a job lined up, as they wouldn't be watching him now. Cordelia missed her boyfriend deeply, and could often be found sulking or daydreaming. Kiana tried to keep their spirits up, but she missed her friends just as much.
The NEWT exams had taken place for the seventh years, and Cordelia prayed to Merlin that she did well. She was an anxious ball of nerves leading up to them, and was often having to calm herself down through deep breathing and self talk. She still felt the anxiety even after they were over, now that she had to wait for the results that held her future.
One night before school was to be let out, Cordelia was strolling down the corridors when she saw Neville, Ginny, and Luna frantically running past her. They looked worried as they ran, and their actions seemed to have purpose.
"Oi! What is going on?" Cordelia asked loudly, gaining their attention and causing them to stop.
"Harry had a vision of someone being tortured," Neville gasped, out of breath.
"We're creating a distraction to keep people away from Umbridge's office," explained Ginny.
"He's using the Floo network to check on his friend," added Luna before they took off running toward Umbridge's office.
"Wait! I'm coming too!" she shouted as she ran to catch up with them.

They managed to keep people away from Umbridge's office, claiming a Dung Bomb had gone off in that direction. Soon; however, they were caught by some Slytherin students who were part of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad.
"You're all coming with us," said Draco, grabbing his sister by the arm before dragging her to Umbridge's office. Crabbe, Goyle, and a boy named Blaise Zabini grabbed the others and followed.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were already in the office when the group arrived. Harry was sitting in a chair with Umbridge bending down in front of him.
"...You were trying to contact Dumbledore, weren't you?" Umbridge asked the bespectacled boy.
