Ginny joined the family at Aunt Muriel's home in March when she returned for her spring holiday. The last remaining Hogwarts student in the family refused to talk about what was going on inside the school. She feared that her parents would forbid her to return. Her efforts went in vain; however, when her parents refused to let her go back. They feared for her safety, despite not knowing all of the facts.

Cordelia's birthday was celebrated on the sixteenth of March. It was a simple dinner with the family, and Cordelia was grateful to have the quality time where they didn't talk about the dark state of the world.

The adults surprised the birthday girl with a visit from her parents. She learned that they would be staying for a week, with Aunt Muriel offering one of her multiple guest rooms for the couple. Cordelia sometimes wondered why Aunt Murial had Fred and George share a room, as well as she and Ginny. She learned it was for this reason: to easily accommodate guests who may need a place to stay. Having her parents there was the best gift Cordelia could have received, considering how much she had missed them during the last few months. With Muggleborns being rounded up, she knew that them moving to Greece and staying away from Britain was for the best. It didn't change the fact that she still missed having them so close.

After they all had their share of cake, the families gathered in the living room for drinks and conversation. George and Ginny were playing a game of Wizard's Chess in the corner. Arthur and Amos were in their own conversation in front of the fire, sipping on their meade. Fred stood alone on the other side of the room as he watched his fiancé on the couch, talking and laughing with their mothers and his Aunt.

He had always admired how she could have all of her attention on the people speaking to her and how easily she made conversation with anyone. He thought of past memories the couple shared. Memories of them having fun or taking care of each other, as well as the romantic moments that filled his mind.
He even thought of their fights, or little spats, as they liked to call them. They had always been able to resolve issues and compromise when necessary. He now understood that his dad was correct when he gave some advice after one of their early spats.

"It's you and her versus the problem. Not you versus her," his father had said. After that, any problem that came up was easy to resolve.

He then remembered his dad being in the hospital and how worried she was, despite her attempts not to show it. His heart swelled at the thought of how much she had always cared for every member of his family, of how easy it was for them to accept her, despite her family name at the time. The two of them had always fit into each other's lives so effortlessly.

A sudden realization swept through Fred, and he decided he couldn't wait any longer. He knew it was crazy and he didn't know if she would go for it, but he had to at least try.
