Cordelia Lyra Malfoy had always been different from the rest of her family. Her family were blood-supremacists who tried to teach their views to their children. Cordelia never believed with their views and would be punished for it.

On Christmas morning, everyone sat at the table when breakfast was served. Cordelia was sitting between Fred and Adele, as the Diggorys had come back. Fred and Adele were holding hands under the table, as they usually do during big family meals.
"Arthur! It's Percy!" Molly gasped when she looked out the kitchen window.
Everyone turned to the window to see Percy walking up to the house with the new Minister of Magic.
"What are they doing here?" asked Fred. Unable to come up with an answer, Cordelia shrugged her shoulders and shook her head.
Molly quickly made her way to the door, opening it for the men before they could even knock. "Minister Scrimgeour, Percy. This is a pleasant surprise. Please, come in," she greeted the men, stepping out of the way.
"You must forgive the intrusion," Scrimgeour apologized. "Percy and I were in the area, and he couldn't resist coming to see you all."
Molly wiped a few tears from her eyes. "Please, sit down and have something to eat."
"No, No, my dear Molly," said Scrimgeour. "I don't want to intrude, I wouldn't have been here at all if Percy hadn't wanted to see you all"
"Oh, Percy!" Molly exclaimed as she hugged her son. Percy, on the other hand, looked less than thrilled to be there. Not wanting to be rude, He hesitantly wrapped his arms around his mother's shoulders, patting her back.
"We'll only be here for five minutes, so I'll have a walk around the yard while you catch up with Percy," explained Scrimgeour. "If anyone cared to show me the garden that'd be splendid.... Ah, that boy looks finished, would he care to join me."
Everyone looked from Scrimgeour to Harry skeptically. Harry had barely started his breakfast while a few people at the table had clean plates.
"Yeah, alright," he agreed, standing up from the table and walking to the door.
"It's fine," he said as Remus was about to stand as well.
The room fell into an awkward silence when Harry and the Minister left. No one knew what to say as they awkwardly looked at each other.
Percy looked around the table and took note of the guests. He was surprised to see the Diggorys as well as Fleur, Remus and Tonks. He noticed how close Fleur and Bill were sitting, his hand on her back. Percy then noticed Cordelia's and Fred's arms interlocked, her engagement ring prominent on her left ring finger as her hand rested on Fred's bicep.
"This is new," he commented, giving them a slight nod.
"Yeah, it is," Fred muttered, unable to hold back a smile as his other hand reached over and held hers.
