Cordelia paced back and forth in the hallway outside Courtroom 10 inside the Ministry of Magic. Her hands rested on her six month pregnant belly. It took four months for the Ministry to hold the criminal trial for the Malfoys after gathering all of the evidence, memories, and witness testimonies that they could find.

Cordelia felt she should be in the Courtroom to hear her brother's trial as well as witness the verdict, but she struggled to collect herself after testifying against Lucius. Fred had to pull her out of the room and calm her down. During the investigation, Kingsley had learned about the abuse Cordelia suffered as a child and those acts were added onto his other charges. So, she had to not only testify about the duel at Hogwarts, but about her time at Malfoy Manor as well. While she was sitting on the stand, going over all of her experiences as a child, every horrible memory flooded through her mind and body. She was able to keep her composure during the testimony, despite having to Lucius face to face. She couldn't help it; however, when a panic attack set in once she returned to her seat.

Fortunately, she had provided her memory of Draco saving her life prior to the trials. Kingsley thought it would be best if she didn't testify on behalf of her brother, thinking it would do more harm than good. She, of course, would tell the court and jury of all the bad things she knew he did, but she would also be testifying on his behalf. It was possible that jury could see her testimony as nothing but a ploy to get her brother off and find him guilty in spite of it. They weren't willing to take that chance, but Cordelia hoped that her memories would help her estranged brother.

"You need to calm down, love," said Fred, leaning against the wall as he watched his pregnant wife pace in worry. "The Healer said stress isn't good for the baby."

Fred had taken parenthood very seriously. He doted on his wife, making sure she was comfortable at all hours of the day and night. He made sure she didn't lift anything, and he always provided what her cravings asked for.

Fred insisted on attending every appointment with his wife, where he listened to every word the Healers told them and took detailed notes. He also started reading Muggle pregnancy and baby books in an attempt to prepare them both as much as possible. He even signed them up for Muggle birthing classes so they would know what to expect during the delivery.

"I know, Fred... The pacing is soothing. Plus, she's kicking an awful lot today," said Cordelia, looking down at her belly as her resting hand felt another kick.

When she reached her fourth month of pregnancy, the Healer asked if they wanted to know the gender. Cordelia didn't miss a beat when she said yes, and luckily Fred agreed. They were both overjoyed when the couple learned they were having a girl. Of course, they would have been happy with whatever gender they had, and knowing the gender made it feel more real.
