Everyone in the Great Hall knew when the hour was up by the loud noises outside of the broken school. People helped move the injured into a locked classroom where they could hide with Madam Pomfrey. Cordelia gave Fred a kiss, assuring him she'll be alright.

She followed the crowd to the courtyard where they watched Voldemort and his Death Eaters march up to the castle. They all had smug looks on their faces, as if they had already won. Hagrid was walking among them with ropes wrapped around his neck, held by the Death Eaters who were beside them. Cordelia could see that he was carrying a large lump in his arms. It looked like a person, but she didn't want to think about who it could be.

"Who's that Hagrid is carrying?" asked Ginny, loudly. "Cordi, who is it?"

As Hagrid approached closer to the group, it became clear as to who it was. Cordelia couldn't answer as a large lump formed in her throat.

"Harry Potter is dead!" Voldemort announced loudly for all to hear.

Everyone stood in shock, mouths open in disbelief as they stared at the dead boy in Hagrid's arms. Some people started to cry, Cordelia being one of them.

"No... NO!" Ginny's cry echoed over the grounds as she rushed towards Voldemort.
Arthur stepped forward and grabbed onto Ginny. He wrapped his arms around daughter, letting her struggle briefly before pulling her in tighter.

"Stupid girl!" yelled Voldemort. "He came to me and begged for mercy whilst the rest of you fought bravely... So don't cry for that!"

"Liar!" yelled Ron. Voldemort flicked his wand, causing the boy to grimace in pain. Cordelia wasn't sure what curse was used on Ron, but she knew it wasn't the Crusiatus Curse. If it was, Ron was an excellent actor at hiding his pain.

"Did you not hear me!" Voldemort's voice echoed throughout the grounds. "Harry Potter is dead! Put your faith in me or suffer the consequences.... Now is the time to declare yourself."

"Draco!" called Lucius. Draco looked up to see his father with his hand outstretched, summoning him. "Draco, don't be stupid."

Draco was standing in the back of the crowd as he looked around at his peers who would look down at the ground, unwilling to make eye contact. He could see the back of Cordelia's head in the front of the crowd, her eyes glued to Lucius in defiance.

She had not realized her brother was even standing on their side. She was a little surprised and relieved. Her mind was reeling as she thought of all the possible options. She could let Draco go with their parents without saying a word, or she could encourage him to stay with her. Maybe he could make the right choice, maybe they could be siblings again. Or maybe he would turn her down and join the Death Eaters again. There was one thing she did know: she had to try to save her brother and encourage him to redeem himself in the only way she knew how.
