Kingsley and Cordelia immediately separated when they entered the Great Hall. Kingsley led Percy's stretcher to the area where the dead were being kept. Cordelia led Fred to the injured. People turned their attention to the beaten and broken woman who didn't acknowledge their presence. Her hair was messy and her face was covered in cuts, bruises, and dirt. Her makeup ran down her cheeks, mixing into the dirt and blood. She looked straight ahead and walked in a zombie-like fashion, not willing to break her concentration by levitating Fred with her magic.

"Oh, my boy!" Cordelia could hear Molly's painful cries across the Hall. She didn't look in the direction of the grieving family as she found a clear spot and lowered Fred gently to the floor with her wand.

Cordelia twitched when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned her head and looked over her shoulder to see Madam Pomfrey's concerned gaze.

"I need help healing Fred," Cordelia mumbled before turning back and lowering herself to the floor next to her husband. She knew she couldn't heal Fred on her own. His injuries were too extensive and they outweighed her skill level. She also felt numb at tha moment, her mind blank. The only thought her mind could think of was, "Fred."

Madam Pomfrey went straight to work with healing Fred by pulling out potions, bandages, and ointments out of her bag. It took longer than what Cordelia would have liked, but the two women worked together to heal his injuries, with Madam Pomfrey giving Cordelia instructions on what to do.

"He needs rest, but he is going to be fine. Do you need anything?" the Matron asked when they were done.

"I'm not hurt," mumbled Cordelia, shaking her head, holding her husband's hand in her own, her eyes not leaving his broken body. Madam Pomfrey nodded and Cordelia felt the presence of the Matron leave the couple.

It didn't take long for Fred to stir as he laid on his stretcher, blinking confusedly. He tried to sit up, but Cordelia gently pushed him back down by the shoulders when he groaned in pain.

"Hello, love," she said, giving him a relieved and sad smile as she brushed some of his red hair out of his face. "How are you feeling?"

"Sore," he answered, his voice strained. "Is is over? Did we win?"

Cordelia shook her head as she rested her hand on his cheek. "Not yet, love."

Fred closed his eyes and placed his hand over hers while taking a deep breath. "I love you."

"I love you too, Freddie... I was so scared. I thought - I thought I lost you," she admitted with a shaky breath.

"I'm here, love. I'm not going anywhere."

"Good, because I need you to grow old with me, Freddie," she said with a small smile.

"And we will," he promised. "After all this is over, we should move into your cottage... Start a family."
