Chapter 67: A Rocky Start

*the Monastery* 

"Has anyone seen my sunscreen?" Cole asked as the Ninja scrambled around the Monastery to pack, "no!" Kai answered as he ran into his room and threw his bag into the hallway.

"Where's my sword?" Lloyd asked as he ran around.

"Are you bringing sneakers or boots?" Nya asked, Y/N and Zane ran past her, "sneakers!" they both said at the same time as Y/N jumped over Kai's bag. "Boots!" Kai said with a smirk as Nya frowned at him.

Kai almost bumped into Lloyd as Lloyd's eyes trailed down to the comic in his hand, "hey, is that my Starfarer comic?" Lloyd asked as he glared at Kai slightly, "you lent it to me, remember?" Kai asked as he looked at Lloyd. "Like a year ago!" Lloyd said as he looked at Kai, "ugh. Take it" Kai groaned while walking away after shoving the comic towards Lloyd.

"You're not bringing that, are you?" Y/N asked as she had clean clothes in her arms, "my soda-guzzler? You bet" Cole said in a proud tone while placing his hands on his hips, "I thought we were only supposed to pack essential items" Y/N said as she raised her brow at him, "this is essential. How am I supposed to quest and stay hydrated at the same time, Y/N?" Cole asked in a sassy tone before he took a sip of his drink. Y/N rolled her eyes as she walked past Cole and quickly ducked as a chicken jumped out of Jay's room with a neck pillow on. "Anyone have room for my travel pillow?" Jay asked as he took the neck pillow off of the chicken. "No!" The Ninja said at the same time.

Y/N walked into her bedroom as she looked at all of the clothes and things on her bed, Y/N placed her clean clothes on her bed as she made sure she had everything, she started to pack while hearing the Ninja shout around the Monastery.

"Where is my comb!" Kai shouted as he ran into Y/N's room and looked around, "it's in the bathroom, Kai. Where it's always been" Y/N said as she put her clothes in the bag she had before moving to her essentials. "Thanks, Y/N!" Kai said as he ran out of her room and out into the Monastery halls. Y/N sighed as she made sure she had everything before zipping up her bags and quickly doing a check over, Y/N smiled as she picked up all of her bags and started to tug them out of the Monastery and into the courtyard.

*the courtyard*

"That's the last of it" Lloyd said as they all had their bags in a pile, "what is the meaning of this?" Wu asked as he and Pixal walked up to the Ninja. "We're off on our quest. Remember? To hone our Ninja skills" Lloyd said with a proud smile, "how long are you going for?" Wu asked. "I don't know. Day or two?" Jay said nonchalantly, "it's like you always say, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" Cole said in a confident tone. "I never said that," Wu said while slightly glaring at Jay and Cole.

"Ha! And you say we never listen" Jay said with a bright smile, "I never said that either" Wu said while raising a brow at the Ninja. "Master Wu, perhaps this is an opportunity to field-test the new joint-tactical vehicles" Pixal suggested. "Oh! What new-joint-tactic– what?" Kai questioned with the tongue twister.

Pixal led them to one of the rooms in the Monastery, she threw shurikens at a bulls eye which showed a red button, she quickly pressed it as a part of the room was replaced with a secret elevator. "Wow!" Nya said with a surprised expression. Pixal pressed a few buttons as elevator music started to play while they made their way down.

"Did anyone know this was here?" Lloyd asked, "no" Cole answered while Kai sighed. "Nobody tells me anything" Kai whined as he looked at Pixal, Wu and Y/N. "We've been working on it for the past six months" Y/N said as she placed a hand on her hip, "I didn't even notice any construction" Jay whined, "you were playing video games" Pixal said while looking at Jay lazily.

"Huh?" Jay questioned as he tried to recall any memories of construction, and now that he thought about it, the construction was all around him and he chose to ignore it.

As the door opened, it showed a new secret base, but instead of red, it was blue. The Ninja gasped as Y/N and Pixal smiled proudly at their work. "We have a secret base!" Jay shouted as he shook Lloyd. Y/N smiled as she grabbed Lloyd's hand and pulled him to where the vehicles were. "Whoa!" Kai exclaimed, "no way" Cole said as he looked around. "Wow!" Nya shouted as she looked around. "I can't believe it," Zane said. Cole and Kai cackled as they looked at what seemed to be their new vehicles.

"What's that?" Nya asked as she looked at what seemed to be a car version of the Bounty. "It is a heavily armored six-wheeled mobile command vehicle," Pixal explained. "I call it the Land-Bounty" Y/N said as she nudged Nya slightly with a smile.
