Logan stared at Emma. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you."

"Everything has been so hectic that it completely slipped my mind to tell you."

Emma waved her hand dismissively, then she touched his arm. "Don't worry about it."

"I still should have told you."

"Do you think Aaron managed to escape?"

Logan cleared his throat before turning his gaze to her face.

"Yeah, I do."

"I don't know him well enough, but from what I've seen, he's a very tenacious and r@esourceful person."

"I know."

The silence in the plane was deafening. Aaron stared out the window, his mind in chaos.

"I know it happened a long time ago, but I'm really sorry that you had to experience something so horrible."

Aaron glanced over at Theo with a sigh. "It doesn't matter anymore. I just didn't want anyone else to know about my past."

"I promise that I won't tell anyone. It will stay here between us."

"Theo, it was a long time ago."

"Why don't you try to get some sleep? I'll keep watch over you."

Aaron really didn't want to let his guard down. He trusted Theo but he could only relax when he was with his loved ones.

"I'm good. How long until we reach home?"

"A few hours."

"Okay."

A few hours didn't sound too bad.

"If you don't want to sleep. We can play a game or something."

"What kind of game?"

"21 questions. We'll ask each other a question and answer honestly."

"Really?"

"Yes, really. We can get to each other better."

"Fine"

"Why don't you go first?"

"How old are you?" Aaron stared at him.

Theo smiled at him, "I was born the same year as you. I'm older by a couple of months."

"I thought you were younger."

"I guess I have good genes."

Aaron shook his head at Theo's smug expression. "Just ask your question."

"What's your relationship with those two guys? Are you guys just friends?"

Aaron wasn't surprised that Theo asked him that question. Yet, he still hesitated. Not because he wanted to hide his relationship with Kyle and Logan, but he had promised to keep it a secret.

Did it matter anyway if he let him know?

"No, we're more than friends."

"It figures. The way they would both stare at me."

"How do they stare at you?"

"Like they want to flay me alive."

Aaron burst out laughing at the comedic look on his face.

"I'm so glad you find that amusing."

"I'm sorry," Aaron held up a hand, small laughter still escaping his mouth. "It's just the look on your face."

Theo grinned at him. "At least it made you laugh."

"Kyle and Logan are just protective of me."

"Don't have to be with me. You already told me that you're not interested, so I'm fine with being your friend."

"How did you get tangled with the Boyds?" Aaron really wanted to know.

"My parents died when I was young and George adopted me. But I guess he only did that because he wanted to look good to the public. Justin was the only that actually made an effort to make me feel like I belonged there. I didn't know about the dirty side of the family until I was in my teens. I didn't know anything about you until Justin told me."

"If you had known, would still have aided him?"

"No, I wouldn't. Justin told me that it was owed to the family."

Aaron decided to share a little bit of his past with him.

"My dad sold me to Justin's father and since George is in jail, Justin thinks the contract is still valid."

"I didn't know that part."

"He has the contract with him."

"Don't worry, I will deal with Justin."

Aaron wondered if he could really handled Justin. Not only did Theo helped him escaped, he killed two of Justin's men. But Aaron didn't say anything. Feeling his eyes getting heavy, he leaned back and closed his eyes.

He must have dozed off because next thing he felt someone gently shaking him by the shoulders.

Groggily, he opened his eyes and peered up at Theo.

"How long was I asleep?"

"An hour." A worried frown marred Theo's face. "Usually you're able to sense when I'm anywhere near you."

An hour of sleep was the longest he'd managed to get in since this morning, but he felt more tired.

"Why did you wake me up?"

Theo indicated to the cart next to him. "You haven't eaten anything yet."

Aaron's stomach rumbled at the delicious aroma. He was so focused on escaping that he hadn't thought about food.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

Aaron sat up and lifted the lid from the plate. He picked up his fork and took a bite of the cheesy chicken.

It's been a while since he ate this type of cooked food.

"I prepared it myself."

"It's really good."

"I taught myself early to make sure I have the necessary skills for everyday day life."

"What other knowledge did you acquire?"

"I learned never to keep salt and sugar together without proper labels."

More laughter fell from Aaron's mouth. "How did that happen? "

"It was my first time, and I decided to bake a cake for my birthday. I was so excited that I didn't check to make sure it was sugar I was using. Didn't even measure the amount, just dumped it in the bowl. It was the saltiest cake I've ever eaten." Theo grimaced, as though he was reliving the memory.

Aaron doubled over with laughter.

"Stop, I can't take it no more. My stomach hurts."

"I refused to use any type of salt for two whole months."

"Theo, I'm getting a stomach cramp."

"Have you ever overdose on salt?"

Clutching his stomach, Aaron tried to contain his laughter but it was impossible.

"We'll be landing in two hours." The announcement drifted from the public address system.

With the announcement of their landing time, Aaron took a few deep breaths to calm himself.
