"Brett was telling his friends about his plans for Aaron. He was going make up this ruse about having a surprise party for Kyle."

Pawel could still hear Brett's voice in his head. "Aaron was always wary around Brett and always tried not to be alone with him. He told me a few times that Brett had made advances towards him but he rejected him."

"Did he ever reported this to anyone?"

"I don't know."

"What happened next?"

"One night after training, I was walking pass Brett's room when I heard them talking about spiking a drink then give it to Aaron. I was scared of being discovered but I had to hear everything."

"Did you recorded their conversation?"

Pawel nodded his head. "I wasn't taking any chances. Brett had connections outside the academy."

"We received a DVD that had you as one of the participants of this rape."

"I wasn't there. It was edited. Brett found out that I knew everything and threatened to have my family killed."

"Why should we believe you?"

"Because it's the truth."

Pawel removed the fake hair from his head and removed a taped flash drive.

"This is the real footage from the camera showing everyone in that room. It also has the voice recording of their conversation."

He handed the flash drive over to Detective Finn.

"Why did it took you so long?"

Pawel glanced at the other cop in the room. The guy had been so quiet that he had forgotten he was in the room.

"I was still scared. That's why I left without telling my family. But a friend convinced me that it was time to stop running."

"This is the end of the witness statement." Detective Finn stopped the recorder.

"Logan was right."

"About what?"

"He told that you were a strict but fair person."

Detective Finn smiled, "He's right to an extent. But it's because I'm a good judge of character."

"Don't believe him. He's a hardball."

Detective Finn laughed then looked at him. "This older gentleman is Harold. I'll let him introduce himself."

Pawel glanced back at Harold. He looked stricter than Detective Finn.

"What now?"

"We'll get a warrant and have those bastards arrested."

"What about me? Should I stay here alone?"

"We'll have a protective detail on you until this gets wrapped up and it goes to trial. We won't take any chances with your life."

The weight that held him down, lifted right off his shoulder.

Pawel smiled at Detective Finn and thanked him for giving him a chance to explain his side.

"Can I meet my cousin? I haven't seen him in years."

"Sure. You can go with Harold."

"Thanks, again." Pawel got up, hat still clutched in his hand.

"I'm only doing my job. No need to constantly thank me."

"We should be the one thanking you."

Pawel's gaze went to Harold. "Why?"

"Because you took the courage to come here despite the danger to bring us evidence of a crime committed."

"Harold is right."

They left the office, where Logan was waiting for them. He strode over to them with a blank expression.

"How did it go?"

"It great. Thanks again for trusting me, Logan."

"I've known you since I was five."

"People change."

"I know. But not you."

They exited the building and made their way to Harold's vehicle.

"What about my car?"

"I'll have someone tow it for you. It's best not to be seen driving it until this is over."

"Okay."

Pawel had no problem leaving the car behind. It seemed like a bullseye every time he got behind the wheel.

Even though he had changed vehicles, deep-down he still felt as though he was being followed.

It was keeping him on edge. He just hoped that he hadn't brought Brett to Logan's doorstep.

They all piled into the vehicle, and Harold pulled out the parking lot.

While the car drove pass familiar buildings, Pawel started to feel more relaxed.

"I thought things had changed, but they're still the same." Pawel leaned back and closed his eyes. His eyes felt heavy from the lack of sleep.

He must have dozed off because his body was suddenly jerked forward.

Pawel's eyes sprung open. "What's going on?"

"Sorry about that. There's traffic up ahead."

Pawel looked out the window and saw a truck parked haphazardly across two spaces. Why was that truck parked in the middle of the road?

He put his head out the window to try get a closer look. He could faintly discern the shape of a person behind the wheel.

With the truck parked on his side, he could tell it was stalling the flow of traffic.

"There's a truck in the middle of the road."

"Why is there a truck in the road?"

Harold opened the driver's door and got out the vehicle. Pawel's stomach twisted as unease infiltrated his body.

"Logan, I don't think we should be here."

Logan glanced over his shoulder at him. "Do you think Brett had you followed?"

"Yes, but I'm not sure how he figured out my location. I was always careful."

"Did anyone saw you in Falmouth?"

"I barely spoke to anyone. Even at the bar, I kept a low profile."

"These days, there is no such thing as low profile. There's always someone working for the bad guys."

Logan reached over and honked the horn twice then three times. Harold glanced back when he heard the beeping. Not wasting any time, he ran to the car, jumped in, and reversed from behind the rows of vehicles.

"I guess Brett found you." Harold said, pressing hard on the gas.
