They searched the entire house but there was still no sign of Dirk. The whole yard was lit up like the fourth of July because of the police vehicles. Not all of Dirk's men were killed. The few that were alive had been taken into custody.
Aaron sat in the back of the emergency vehicle, patiently waiting for the medic to check his wound.
"It's going to need stitches." The medic told him, probing at his back.
"Next time, don't use your body as a shield to protect me." Kevin stood at the opened doors, arms folded.
"Force of habit."
Kevin's gaze went to the gauze bandage. "What happened to your shoulder?"
"I got shot..."
"When did you get shot?"
"A while back. It's almost healed."
"All done." The medic said.
"Can you check his shoulder." Kevin asked.
"Sure." The medic removed the gauze bandage to look at his injury. "It's healing. But you still need to be careful."
After a new bandage was applied, Aaron put back on his shirt and stepped out the vehicle.
"Don't mention any of this to Harold or my parents. I don't want them to worry."
"I won't. What about your brothers?"
Aaron glanced at him. "What about them?"
"Are you kidding me?" Kevin stared at him with a look so comical that Aaron had to laugh.
"They're not that bad."
"You're right. They're way more dangerous."
Aaron laughed at him. "No, they're not."
Kevin just shook his head without a word. They got into the vehicle, with Aaron sitting in the passenger seat.
"I've already called Harold and told him that we're on our way. Logan and Kyle is there also."
"I guess this mole knows me personally."
"Why do you say that?"
"That's the only reason anyone was able to find out the location of that house."
"Let's get to the safe house." Kevin backed out the driveway. "Try to get some sleep."
He leaned his head back against the seat and closed his eyes. He was damn tired.
The drive to Harold's safe house was silent. Aaron didn't mind the quiet, it helped to ease his thoughts. He must have dozed off because he awoke to Kevin shaking his shoulder.
"Aaron, wake up. We're here."
"I didn't realized I was so tired." He ran a hand over his face before getting out the vehicle.
"With all that work you have been doing, I'm surprised you lasted this long."
Kevin put a arm around him, helping him to the door. He punched in the security code and they entered the house.
"Aaron, you're back." Logan rushed towards him, wrapping his arms tightly around his body. Aaron hugged him back, ignoring the pain.
Aaron was surprised that Logan was hugging him with no hesitation. He watched Kyle walked towards them before his arms also joined Logan's.
"I guess we're not keeping our relationship a secret anymore."
"Next time, don't go anywhere without me." Kyle leaned over to give him a kiss.
"I won't. I promise." Aaron stared at his two lovers with a tired smile. "I love you both so much."
"We love you too." Logan kissed him on his mouth then stepped back.
"Whoa, I wasn't expecting that." Kevin said out loud.
No one had been expecting this, including himself.
His gaze landed on Harold. "I'll tell you everything later. I need to rest for a bit." Aaron told him.
He needed to lie down. His whole body was hurting like hell.
"Okay, we'll talk later."
He took a few steps towards the stairs then paused to look at Kyle and Logan. "Come upstairs with me for a while."
The three quietly climbed the stairs to the bedroom. He pulled off outer garment, leaving on his undershirt and pants.
"Did you get hurt?" Logan asked.
Aaron wanted to lie but he had promised to always tell them the truth. He took off his shirt and turned to show them his back.
Fingers touched his back, caressing the skin but being careful not to touch the bandaged area.
"You must be tired." Kyle said.
"I just want to take a shower and then sleep." Aaron told them honestly.
"Logan, why don't you make him something to eat."
Aaron put a hand on Logan's neck and pulled him close to give him another kiss. "I'll be fine after getting some sleep."
"Okay." Logan smiled at him before giving Kyle a warning look.
"What?"
"Only a shower. Nothing physical."
"I wasn't going to do anything." Kyle protested with both hands in the air.
"Make sure you don't." With that, Logan left the room.
Laughing at Kyle's expression, Aaron stripped the rest of his clothes off then went into the bathroom, leaving the door slightly ajar. He could hear rustling in the other room, so he assumed Kyle was getting undressed.
Aaron raised his hand to turn the faucet when the curtain was shoved to the side, and Kyle stood still, staring at him.
"Kyle, I'm sorry I left without you..."
Kyle stepped into the shower and pushed him against the wall. It wasn't a rough push but a grunt left his mouth when his back touched the cold wall. Kyle gripped his jaw and tipped his head back. Aaron didn't try to pull away from him.
"Don't you ever do that again."
Kyle's gaze burned into his face for a second before taking his mouth in a deep searing kiss. Aaron returned the kiss with enthusiasm.
The kiss went on for a few seconds before the need for air had them pulling apart. Aaron gasped out a breath as Kyle stroked the side of his face lovingly.
"It won't happen again. I won't do anything without telling you or Logan."
He stared at him for a minute before withdrawing his hand.
"Good." Kyle picked up the loofah, running the lathered sponge over his body, being careful of the bandages.
When every inch of his body was covered in soap, Kyle ran the sponge over his own body.
"We didn't find Dirk. He must have been alerted by that mole. Did you find the mole?"
Kyle's hands paused for a bit before he grabbed the shower head to rinse off their bodies.
"We did."
Aaron glanced at him. "Kyle, who was the mole?"
"It was Howard. Howard was the mole."
