"I told you I'm fine." Aaron rubbed his temple at the throbbing headache forming there. Aaron walked in to his office and grab the water and his bottle of pills. He quickly popped two pills in his mouth.
"Alright, I'll leave it alone."
"How's Logan?"
"He's still asleep."
The door to his office opened and Aaron watched Kyle entered the room. "Kaia, I have to go. I'll be home in a few minutes." He ended the call and pocketed his phone.
Kyle closed the door. "Is your head hurting you?"
"Just a little bit."
"Aaron, why didn't you tell me?"
"Now is not the time to bring up old news. It happened years ago."
"Aaron, this just doesn't go away." Kyle walked up to him, wrapping his arms around his waist in comfort. It was good thing the windows were tinted.
"I don't even remember."
"Is that why you were acting so distant towards me?"
"I was afraid you would find out and get disgusted. Besides I was unconscious for most of the time."
"I can't believe your father would this to you."
"How could anyone have known this was going to happen?"
"Have you ever told anyone? Your parents?"
"Are you crazy? Have you met my parents?" Aaron leaned back against him. "Listen to me Kyle. It's over and done with. We don't need to rehash the past."
"If I ever find out who those fuckers were, I'm going to hurt them."
The pure venom in his voice didn't shock Aaron. Kyle always had a mean temper.
"I'm tired. I'm ready to go home."
"Would you like a massage?" Kyle asked backing away and pulling him to the door.
"That sounds good." Aaron locked his office door before walking with Kyle to the elevator. The doors opened and they stepped out into the lobby, making their way to the parking garage.
"We should have a movie night." Kyle told him. "How about this weekend?"
"This weekend is good."
"I'm staying the night."
Aaron glanced over at Kyle, who was staring at him. Kyle's eyes glanced down at his mouth for a second before turning to the road. Message received loud and clear. Aaron turned on the radio to drown out the sudden silence. He leaned his seat back so he could lay on his back and closed his eyes. The medication was making him drowsy.
"Aaron, wake up."
Aaron pushed the hand shaking him away but it kept coming back. He opened his eyes, blinking the fog away.
"What?"
"We need to go inside."
Aaron opened the door and exit the car, stumbling slightly before hands grabbed him, preventing him from falling.
"Careful."
"I didn't realized how tired I was."
The walk up to his apartment seemed to stretch endlessly before he finally reached his apartment. He unlocked the door and they entered his apartment. The two headed straight for his bedroom, not stopping until they were in his room. Aaron changed back into the clothes he wore to bed earlier.
Quietly, he got into bed, sighing as his body touched the cool sheets. The lights were flipped on then Logan turned his body to squint at them.
"You guys are back?"
"Sorry for waking you."
Kyle got in behind Aaron and flung a strong arm over his waist, drawing him back against his body. He patted the small space.
"Come closer."
Logan scooted his body closer to Aaron and put his hand over Kyle's, their bodies encasing Aaron between them.
"Close your eyes babe." Kyle whispered in his ear.
Aaron's eyes began drooping as Logan kissed him on his forehead. He felt another kiss on his nape but was too tired to open his eyes. But Aaron could have sworn he heard talking before he drifted off to sleep.
When Aaron opened his eyes, he was alone in bed. He pushed off the covers and swung his legs over the side before standing to his feet. He strode towards the bathroom door, quickly stripping off his clothes. Pushing aside the curtain he stepped into the stall.
He turned on the faucet, lifting his face to the warm spray of water. But was careful of the bandages.
Aaron took a long shower this time, not caring that he was wasting time.
A knock at the door drew his attention from his wandering thoughts. The door opened and someone came in.
"Aaron, how are you feeling?" Logan's voice asked through the shower curtain.
Aaron brushed the wet hair from his face. "I'm good."
"I guess you had a busy night?"
"Yeah, I did."
"Well, I'm glad you're doing good."
"Thanks. I'll be out in a minute." He heard the door clicked shut.
Aaron turned off the shower and dried himself before opening the door leading to the bedroom. He put on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Leaving the bedroom he saw Kyle and Logan sitting around the table waiting for him.
"Sit down and have breakfast with us."
"Will you be able to make it to class today?"
"Yeah, I'll be going to classes until this case is over."
