Dirk Sinclair stared at Phil with an annoyed expression. He had deliberately escaped with him but so far Phil hasn't been conducive at all.
"How many times have I told you to be careful when going out?"
"Don't worry about it, no one recognized me."
Dirk took a deep breath to control his temper. He couldn't kill him since he needed his help capturing Logan.
"Has there been any progress?"
"I had someone follow that college kid for the last couple of days. He kept going to this hotel in Falmouth."
"Follow him. If he's hiding anything, let me know. I won't tolerate anyone crossing me."
Dirk turned to look out the window but his mind was completely occupied with thoughts of Logan. He had bid his time and planned this escape thoroughly.
No one not even a college was going to derail his plans.
He exited the room and made his way to the basement. When he opened the door, he could hear heavy breathing coming from behind the plastic curtain. He pushed aside the curtain to look at the naked body strapped to the table.
Wide eyed stared up at him but Dirk just smiled. This person was just a means to an end. One of anyway.
"Think of it as you helping me send a message."
He picked up the nail puller pliers and gripped the index finger on the cold gray surface. The person on the table started to struggle but Dirk wasn't fazed. He made sure the pliers gripped the nail then gave it a hard yank, dislodging the nail from the finger. The person screamed but it was muffled.
For the next couple of minutes Dirk removed the other nine nails ignoring the twitching body.
He put down the bloody pliers, he picked up a long sharp knife, running it up the insides of this person's thighs. He dug the knife into the soft flesh severing the hamstring muscles.
Blood dripped from the table onto the floor.
More painful muffled screams. There was a knock on the door.
"What is it?"
"You need to come look at this."
Dirk let out a sigh then look down with regret. "Playtime is over."
He took the same knife and slit that person's throat then threw the knife down on to the table, then disposed of his gloves before washing his hands.
Dirk opened the door. "Take the body where it'll be easier to be found by someone."
He left the room and went upstairs to another room that was devoid of furniture except for a desk and a chair. He entered the room, closing the door behind him.
"What are you doing here?" He asked the person standing with his back to him.
The person held out an envelope in his direction. "You should take a look at this."
Dirk took the envelope and peered inside. He pulled out the photo and stared at it. It was a photo of Logan.
"Where did you find him?"
"Your college recruit found him months ago but kept it to himself."
Dirk clenched his teeth as anger swept through him. He had already planned to get rid of him. It would just happen sooner.
"Do you know which dorm building?"
"Everything you need to know is in that folder." The person told him then exited the room leaving him alone.
He took the burner phone from his pocket and dialed a number.
"Hello."
"Get rid of him." He pressed the end button without waiting for a reply.
He emptied the contents of the envelope on his desk.
There were all photos of Logan.
Photos of him at college, a deli he didn't recognized. When he reached to the last three photos, rage overtook his body. It was of Logan with some guy he didn't recognized.
He didn't want any male or female getting to close what belonged to him.
