"The body he brought me was already dead. He got the gun and the USB."

Dirk leaned against his vehicle as he stared at the woman standing in front of him. He should have known something was wrong when Phil volunteered to go out.

"What are you going to do now?"

"Move everything up. It's time to take action."

"Our best chance to get him is at the diner."

"Good." He opened his car then turned to look at her. "I'll deal with Phil later. No one crosses me and gets away with it." He got into the driver's side, started the engine and drove off.

The vehicle whizzed down the dirt road spewing up dust and gravel but Dirk was raging inside at the thought that Phil had made a fool of him. He slowed down when he hit the busy streets not wanting to draw any attention to himself. He drove straight to the abandoned building and parked his car, slamming the door shut.

He went up to his office, emptied the drawers, his safe which contained money, fake passports and another USB. He had been careless by keeping the other in his desk. After making sure he had every important documentation, he douse the place with gasoline then set the building on fire. The fire spread quickly, consuming everything in its part.

Dirk sped away just as there was a loud boom. He glanced in the rear view mirror watching the fire increase in size. It sucks that he had to torch the place.

He picked up his phone when it suddenly started ringing interrupting his thoughts.

"What is it?"

"Everything is set."

"Good. I've already sent you the information. I don't want him hurt in any way. Just bring him to me."

"Copy that."

Dirk disconnected the call, a grin on his face. Soon, he would have Logan all to himself and no one would be able to find him.

He drove for an hour before finally arriving at a house he had purchased under a different name. The realtor that sold it to him had seem like a nice person, but it was ashamed that he had her killed. The house was situated a long way from the general population which provided alot of privacy for what he needed to do.

Soon Logan. I'll have you here with me.

Phil drove for a couple of miles until he was sure it was safe, before pulling to the side of the road. He glanced down at the duffel bag on the passenger seat then looked at the sleeping body on the backseat.

He pulled his phone from the glove compartment and dialed the first number. The phone rang three times before the person he was contacting answered the call.

"You're calling earlier than I thought you would."

"Damn fucker was testing me. I had to kill someone."

He heard shuffling over the phone for a minute before a door closed.

"Dirk is going to be angry. You should lay low until this is over."

Objections filled his head. No way was he going to hide. Not while his brother was dealing with this psycho.

"That's not going to happen. I'm going to situate the girl with her family somewhere safe then I'm coming to your office. I'm seeing this through to the end."

There was a sigh, "We have a situation at the moment. I'll fill you in on the details later."

"I'll be there in an hour."

"Take care of yourself."

Phil hung up the phone then started the engine. He glanced at the rear view mirror before driving off.
