Two hours seemed to drag on that Aaron patience was wearing thin.

"The moment we land, we need to move quickly."

"I know."

Justin probably had his men waiting for the plane to land. The difficult part would be evading them without being seen.

They needed to be extra careful since anyone could be working for Justin. That could cause a hitch in their plan.

"I have a car waiting to take us to the department." Theo went over the plan one more time with him.

"Please remain seated with your seat belt fastened. We're about to land."

When the pilot made the announcement, Aaron secured the bag under his seat. A few minutes later, the plane touched down.

The landing was a bit bumpy but there was no unfortunate incident.

The instant the plane came to a stop Aaron unbuckled his seatbelt,  grabbed the bag and got up from his seat  to follow Theo out the door.

The door leading to the cockpit opened and the pilot strode over to them.

"You have ten minutes to get out of here."

The pilot unlocked the door and lowered the airstairs. They bolted down the stairs, running toward the gate.

Theo had the vehicle covered with a camouflaged car cover. He tugged off the covers and they piled into the vehicle.

As the car rounded a curve, Aaron caught sight of the tail ends of three vehicles speeding down the road towards the airport.

"How did they get here so fast?"

He glanced back to see the tail lights disappearing from sight.

"We need to catch another plane."

Aaron jerked his head around to stare at Theo.

"What do you mean another plane?"

"We only left the island. We're still in the country."

"Wait..." Aaron vaguely remembered hearing Justin talked about an island. "What exactly do you mean?"

"We left the island but not the country. There's another plane waiting to take us out of here."

"How long will it take to get away from here?"

"A couple of hours."

Aaron wasn't going to place any blame Theo since he was the one that assumed they had already left the country. His head spun around when the sound of tires broke through the night.

A dark vehicle with blinding lights was speeding towards the car.

"We have company."

Theo glanced in the rear view mirror with a curse. "Try to shoot out the tires."

"The vehicle isn't close enough."

Theo eased his foot from the gas pedal and the vehicle started slowing down. Aaron wouldn't be able to shoot the tires because it was too dark. It was impossible to see the tires in the dark, so he would have to shoot at the vehicle itself.

He aimed at the vehicle and started shooting at the front window but it didn't shatter.

"The windows are bulletproof."

"I'll try to get closer. We have to get rid of this vehicle before it alerts the others of our location."

The vehicle driving behind them swerve to the left side of the vehicle.

"Theo, they're coming around your side."

Aaron gripped the roof handle tightly as the roared and the tires squealed down the street.

He glanced at the speed meter then shook his head. Kyle and Theo actually had something in common.

"I'll try to lose them before we reach the private airstrip."

Thunder rumbled, heralding the arrival of pelting rain as the vehicle sped down the street.

The rain drummed wildly on the roof, drowning out the sound of the engine. Headlights flashed on the front window as another vehicle came barreling towards them.

"I guess it's too late "

"Brace yourself." Theo warned before pulling the vehicle to the elbow of a switchback, almost tipping on two wheels.

He managed to pass the other vehicle but the wheels skid on the wet asphalt concrete. By twisting the steering wheel, Theo managed to steer the vehicle from veering off the road.

Aaron glanced back and saw the vehicle spun around on its wheels, heading in their direction.

"How far are we from the airstrip?"

"We're almost there."

With the rain still falling, there were less vehicles to hinder their escape.

"Why aren't they shooting at us?"

"They want to capture you without any injuries."

Theo expertly drove between different alleyways, dodging the vehicles pursuing them. They were able to evade their pursuers but not for long.

Aaron gritted his teeth when the vehicle bounced over a speed bumb, jarring his injury.

Up ahead Aaron spotted a red brick municipal building at the far end of the street.

"I guess that's the private airstrip?"

"Yes it is. The pilot is waiting for us."

"Can you trust him?"

"He doesn't work for Justin." Theo reassure him.

Aaron's gaze went to Theo. "How can you be so sure?"

"Just trust me."

Theo drove the car through the open gates, passed the empty security booth to a lit hangar.

Inside the hangar, Aaron saw two men standing next to a plane, both in deep conversation.

Both men turned as the vehicle entered the hangar. One of the men was dressed in a pilot uniform, while the other was wearing overalls.

Both exited the vehicle and made their way over to the men.

"Thank God you made it on time. We need to leave."

"What's going on?" Theo asked with a frown on his face.

"I was told that Mr. Boyd wants to ground any planes leaving here."

"Did he find out about your flight plans?"

"No. I told my men not to tell anyone about me flying out. But we must leave now."

"Okay, we're ready to leave."

The pilot led them over to the plane and their climbed up the stairs, leading to the inside of the plane.

"Strap yourselves in tightly. We're going to have a bit of a weather."

He closed and locked the door, before entering the cockpit.

Aaron took the a seat next to the window, then buckled his seatbelt.

"We're going home now."
