"Kaia lives on campus. But I have my own apartment not far from here."
"How long have you guys been friends?" Logan watched him turn to look at Kaia who was talking to one of her friends.
"We grew up together actually. Our moms met in college and it was an instant friendship."
"You guys must be really close. "
"We are. I think of her as my younger sister."
Logan's mind flashed on his younger brother, but he quickly stamped his thoughts. He was here to have fun and socialize, not to get depressed.
"I like her. She's funny."
"Yes, she is. And very protective."
Logan glanced at Kaia. She had an infectious smile on her face just like Emma. Maybe that was the reason he had hit it off with her in the first place.
"I can see that. I've only known her a couple of hours but she has already shown that side of her."
"Anyway, tell me about yourself."
Logan knew that he would ask this question. He thought about what he should tell him. The less the better.
"What do you want to know?"
"Whatever you want to tell me. We don't know each other that well so you don't have to tell me anything you're not comfortable with."
He could work with that. "Why don't we introduce ourselves properly to each other?"
Aaron nodded his head. "Aaron Poole. Business major."
"Logan Gibson. Business major."
"Really?"
"Yeah. It's something I've always wanted to do."
"Kaia is majoring in Communications. Hopefully this time she sticks to it."
"How many time has she changed her major?"
"Twice. Her parents got tired of her whining and told her to do whatever major she wanted."
"What about your parents? Did they influenced you in taking Business?"
Aaron shook his head. "Actually, far from it. Both of my parents have their own businesses." Aaron took a sip of his drink. "What about your parents?"
"My parents are..."
"What are you guys talking about?"
Kaia plopped down on the chair next to them with a huge sigh.
"Logan was just about to tell me about..."
"What do your parents do for a living Kaia?" Logan asked. He didn't want to talk about his parents.
"My mom is a photographer mostly for magazines and my dad is a Cop."
A cop. Her dad was a freaking cop.
He wondered if her dad knew Detective Finn. He hoped not.
"How long has your dad been a cop?"
"Eighteen years."
Logan emptied his bottled water in one gulp. He wasn't sure how he felt about another cop knowing his business. Detective Finn had pull all the stops to make sure he was safe and secure.
Aaron got up from his seat and headed into the kitchen, returning a moment later with a bag of chips and a water. He handed the bottle to Logan as he took a seat.
"Do you want some chips?"
"Thanks."
"No problem."
Kaia peered at them with a wide smile. "So, how are you two getting along?"
