"The body of nineteen year old Daniel Augusta was found last night..."
Logan stared at the television in shock. He had kept telling himself that Daniel was alive and safe somewhere but he guessed he was only trying to convince himself.
First the video of April's murder now this. He shut off the television then glanced around the room to make sure he had everything he brought with him last night.
He knew Aaron would be on his way back to the apartment but he didn't want to see him. He picked up his duffel bag and left the apartment building. Once outside he took a taxi to his dorm building.
Aaron had taken his phone last night so he couldn't call his Aunt or Emma.
He was such a fool to think someone like Aaron would actually be interested in him. He should have been suspicious when Kaia came to talk to him at the party, wanting to be friends.
Stupid, he should have known something was wrong.
He got out the taxi after paying the fare, walked briskly to the lobby, thankful that it was empty and made his way up to his dorm. He still had a little time before he had to go to class, so he took a shower then made himself breakfast.
Since he always got a ride from Aaron, it was strange walking from his dorm building to the college.
When he neared the building he saw Kaia standing at the entrance.
He paused for a bit then decided to ignore her.
"Logan, have you seen Aaron?"
He continued walking pass, pretending he hadn't heard her question. She grabbed his arm, pulling him to stop. He tugged his arm away then turned to face her.
"What do you want, Kaia?" He asked in a disinterested voice.
She gave him a puzzled look but he wasn't going to explain himself for talking to her that way.
"Where's Aaron?"
"I don't know. Why don't you try calling him to find out?" He turned halfway only to stop. "Tell him I want my phone back."
"Logan, wait!"
He walked away, refusing to look back at her. In class, he took a seat by the window instead of his usual spot. If Aaron comes he didn't want to sit next to him.
Although he tried not to look at the door, his eyes would drift to it. He was angry at Aaron but he guessed his heart refused to ignore that particular emotion. His heart jumped when Aaron walked through the door but he quickly looked away, turning his attention to the window.
"Please don't come over here." Logan murmured repeatedly to himself.
He didn't want to cause a scene in class.
A sigh of relief left Logan's mouth when Aaron went straight to his seat four rows across. During his classes, Logan focused all his attention on the lectures.
At the end of the day, Logan just wanted to go back to his dorm and rest. He lingered behind, letting the other students leave, hoping that Aaron would leave also but he remained seated.
When the class was empty, Logan picked up his bag intentending to head out the door but he was grabbed from behind. His body came into contact with Aaron's and he shivered at the contact.
"Aaron, let me go." He struggled against his hold. But every time he struggled, his ass would rub against Aaron's lower half.
"You have every right to be angry with me. Just don't run away please."
"I won't run." Logan sighed, he just needed to move away from him. The feel of Aaron's body against his was turning him on.
Treacherous body
"I'm going to let you go now." Aaron released his hold and took a step back, still watching him.
Logan turned around to face him, he looked like tired. He reached out a hand toward him but stopped mid-way. Slowly he pulled his hand back. "Did you get any sleep?"
"A little." Aaron reached into his bag, pulled out Logan's phone and gave it to him. "I sent the link to my phone and deleted it from yours."
Logan took his cellphone and looked down at it warily. "Are you sure it's not on here anymore?"
"Yeah, I'm sure."
"It doesn't mean that I forgive you."
"I know." Aaron stared at him, his gaze fervent. "I meant what I said last night. I'm not with you because of my job."
"I need to get to work." Logan told him then turned on his heel to walk away.
"Let me give you a ride."
"I don't need..."
"It has nothing to do with my job, I want to drive you to work."
Logan knew that Aaron was a stubborn person, so he didn't object any further. When they finally exited the room, the hallway was almost empty. When they reached the parking lot, Aaron walked to a parked black car.
"Why are you driving someone else's car? Where's your jeep?"
"I left the jeep in the garage." Aaron unlocked the doors. "This car belongs to me."
"How many vehicles do you own?"
"Do you really want to know?" Aaron asked as he started the engine. He drove out the parking lot towards the deli.
Logan glanced at the time, hopefully he'll be able to make it on time. His mind went to Barbara's old waitress that had suddenly quit without a word.
"I saw the news about Daniel. Did Mr. Sinclair killed him?" He asked although a part of him already knew the answer.
"Yes."
"Are any more of my friends in danger?"
"Anyone that comes in contact with you is in danger. Especially those that are close to you."
"When did he escaped prison?"
"A while ago."
Logan fingers dig into his thighs at the thought that his teacher could be close by watching him.
