"Where's Kaia?" Logan asked when Aaron pulled up in front of his door building. He opened the passenger side door and got in the jeep.

"She's driving today." Aaron told him, as he drove away from the building.

"I didn't know she could drive."

"She has a driver's license but likes me to drive her around."

"Okay, cool. Do you mind if I listen to the radio?"

"No, go ahead."

Logan turned on the radio, changing the station until he found a good station.

"This Is a good song." Logan said when he finally heard a familiar song.

"What's the name of this song?"

"Somewhere Out There by a band called Our Lady Peace."

"I've never heard of them."

Logan leaned his head back against the seat and closed his eyes. He was tired due to the lack of sleep from his reoccurring nightmare. He managed to get four hours of sleep but his eyes felt like they were filled with gravel.

"I'm tired," he murmured to Aaron but his eyes remained closed.

"It's still early, so let's get breakfast from the diner."

"Hmm..." The drive soothe Logan to sleep, the next minute he felt someone shaking him awake.

"Logan...wake up. We're here."

He tried to open his eyes but it's like they were glued shut.

"Already?" Reaching up a hand, he rubbed at his eyes before blinking them open.

"Didn't you get any sleep last night?"

Logan glanced over at Aaron as they exited the vehicle but he couldn't tell him the reason. He didn't want him to start avoiding him. But he could tell a part of it.

"I kept hearing banging in the room next to mine."

"What kind of banging?"

"I'm not sure...but it was loud enough to penetrate the walls."

Aaron stared at him for a minute before walking towards the diner.

He opened the door to allow him to enter before closing the door behind him. Logan scanned the diner, looking for Barbara but she was nowhere in sight. A waitress walked over to their table.

"What can I get you?"

They couldn't stay long at the diner, so they ordered something that wouldn't take long to make. When the waitress left after taking their orders, Logan continued looking out for Barbara, but still there was no sign of her.

"Are you looking for someone?"

"The owner of the diner."

"Do you know her?"

"She actually hired me to work here." Logan told him. He didn't see the harm in telling him that bit of information.

"Cool. This is a nice place."

When their order arrived, they ate quickly then left the diner to head to class. Kaia was waiting at the entrance, bouncing from one foot to the other.

"Kaia, why are you bouncing like that?" Aaron asked, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Logan felt a dip in his stomach when he saw this. He tried to ignore the feeling since he knew they were just friends, but he really didn't like it. He had no explanation for why he was feeling this way.

"I don't know. What took you so long?"

"We went to have breakfast."

"Without me?" Kaia looked between the two with a smile.

"Yes...now, come on." Aaron dragged her by the arm into the building and Logan just silently followed behind.

"We'll meet you at the parking lot later." Aaron told Kaia as he grabbed Logan's hand, pulling him closer to his side. Logan looked down at their linked hands with a smile.

"I'll see you guys later." Kaia waved to them before entering the room.

Climbing stairs was not something Logan wanted to do, but he found himself doing it until they reached the third floor.

"Don't be nervous. I'll be with you for the whole class."

"How did you know I was nervous?" Logan looked at Aaron.

It would be a new experience with new people he didn't know.

"You're squeezing my hand extra hard."

Logan glanced down at their joined hands. His grip had tightened without him realizing it.

"Sorry about that. It wasn't intentional."

He tried to let go, but Aaron gripped his hand, refusing to release his hand. Logan's eyes traveled from their joined hands, slowly upward until he met Aaron's eyes.

"I don't mind."

Logan opened his mouth but nothing came out. He hoped to heaven he wasn't blushing as those gold orbs stared at him. He let out a breath when Aaron turned away from him to open the door. They entered the room and Logan stopped walking when students paused their activities to stare at them.

"Why are they staring at us? Are we late?" Logan glanced at the clock on the wall.

"No, we're not." Aaron said with a smile as he closed the door behind them. He led him to the third row and that's when he realized they were still holding hands.
