"Do you want me to stay with you or pick you up later?"

Logan glanced at Aaron but his eyes were focused to the front of the room where the lecturer was standing.

"You can stay with me." Logan's mind suddenly flashed to the guy from this morning. He grimaced when he recalled how he acted towards Aaron.

When he saw that guy grabbed Aaron's arm, it was like his mind went completely blank and he wanted to rip his hand off.

He didn't want anyone touching Aaron, unless it was him.

"Okay." Aaron glanced over at him with a smile, his hazel eyes staring at him. Logan could only stare at him, it was funny he never noticed that Aaron had a dimple in his right cheek.

Why hadn't he ever noticed since he was always watching him.

"Don't smile like that for anyone else."

Aaron blinked at him cocking his head to the side. "Why?"

"It's too seductive. It'll attract too much attention."

Aaron stared at him silently, his eyes roaming his face. "I don't care about anyone else except you. I don't care about anyone's thoughts except for yours."

"Oh..." Well, what could he say about that? Nothing. He could feel his face heating at the intense look Aaron was giving him. He looked away from him, trying to calm himself.

By the end of class, Logan had given up trying to keep his focus on what the lecturer was saying. He kept glancing at Aaron because he couldn't help himself. It was pure distraction.

As they exited the room, heading to the door his phone started ringing. He pulled it from his pocket and looked the screen. Emma was calling him.

"Aaron, give me a minute to take this call."

"Sure."

Logan walked a little down the hall before answering the call.

"Emma, what's up?" Logan felt Aaron tensed up next to him and turned to ask him what was wrong.

"She's dead."

Logan frowned, "What are you talking about?"

"April. I heard it from her cousin."

"Emma, what do you mean?"

"April is dead."

Logan's body froze at the news. "How did she died?" Logan's hands suddenly felt clammy.

"I don't know. He never told me."

"You don't think it has anything to...?"

"He's in prison."

Logan could feel himself starting to panic and he took deep breaths to keep himself centered. He couldn't let Aaron see him like that.

"Logan, don't panic. You're safe. He can't get to you."

Out of the corner his eye, he saw Aaron watching him with a concerned expression.

"I gotta go to work. I'll call you later."

"Take care of yourself."

"You too."

When he hung up, he stood there for a minute before turning to Aaron with a smile plastered on his face. He moved toward him, while counting in his head.

"Is everything okay? You don't look too good."

"I'm fine. Everything is good."

"Why did she called you?"

"She was just checking up on me."

Aaron's eyes went to his phone then up at his face. "Come on, I don't want you to reach to late to work."

During the drive to the diner, Logan kept his face to the window, thinking about April. He couldn't believe she was dead. He had spoken to her a couple of times before he left home.

He had only seen her once or twice but she had promised to visit him soon. Being absent-minded, he didn't realized they had reached the diner.

"I'll wait for you over there at the end."

"Okay." Logan suddenly reached out his hand and grabbed Aaron's arm.

"What is it?"

"Nothing...just don't leave me alone."

"I won't."

Logan nodded his head, relief filling him. He went to the back where the new waitress was already putting her things in her locker. Barbara's waitress had quit all of a sudden. She looked up with a smile on her face.

"Hey, Logan, how was your weekend?"

"It was good. Yours?"

"Good, no complaints."

Logan smiled at her but waited for her to leave first, put his bag in his locker then locked it. He put the key in his pocket then went to the front.

On Mondays, the diner was always  slow but not empty. The time blended and by the Barbara came through the door, it was time to leave.

She called him to the back room and gave him a white envelope. "This is for you." She patted him on his shoulder.

He opened the envelope and looked inside. It was money; but too much.

"Before you ask me, this is both your pay and the money your aunt sent for you."

"Okay, thanks." Logan put the envelope in his bag. "I'll see you tomorrow." He left the back room to meet Aaron, who was standing by the door waiting for him.

"What do you want to do now?"

Logan thought about it for a only minute. "I still haven't seen your place. Can we go to your apartment?"
