"I checked those places mentioned in the folder." Pete held out the list.

Kyle took the paper from his hand and scanned the names from top to bottom, putting a line through those that were

"Half of these doesn't exist anymore."

"True. But the last three does." Pete told him.

Kyle looked at the three names then pointed to the one at the bottom.

"This name looks familiar. I think I've seen it before."

"Do you want to check them out?"

"I have something important to deal with right now. We can go tonight."

Pete nodded his head. "Call me later."

"Thanks, Pete."

"Anytime."

Kyle patted him on the back as he exited the room. He needed to check on Logan. When Detective Finn had called to inform him about Pavel showing up at his office door, he had no idea Logan would be there.

At first he was angry that Logan would lie to him but calmed down immediately when he had heard everything. Now that Pawel had come forward with evidence, they could get justice for Aaron.

Kyle pushed the doors opened and tread to his vehicle. He drove out the parking garage, onto the busy street.

Detective Finn would be taking care of the interrogation of the truck driver and his accomplice.

The ringing of his cellphone jeered him from his thoughts. He glanced at the screen and frowned at the unknown number. The call ended just as he reached out to answer.

Kyle drove around to the back of the apartment building and spotted Harold's car. He grabbed his phone and exited the vehicle.

Harold was talking to Logan's Aunt when he entered the apartment.

He scanned the room for Logan but he was nowhere around.

"Kyle, are you looking for Logan?"

"Where is he?"

"In the bedroom."

Kyle hustled to the bedroom, leaving the two talking. He pushed the door without knocking, only to stop short when his gaze landed on a half naked Logan. He was standing in middle of the room, with a towel wrapped around his waist.

Logan spun around to stare at him.

"Kyle, I didn't expect you back so soon."

Kyle tore his gaze away from Logan's naked body.

"I told you that we were going to talk."

"I'm sorry for not telling you about Pawel. He wanted Detective Finn to hear his side of the story."

"I was angry that you would put yourself in that situation. But after listening to Detective Finn, I get why you did it."

He walked closer to him and pulled him into a tight hug. "Don't ever do that again."

"I promise you it will never happen again. I only did it because I knew Pawel wasn't that type of person."

"I get that." Kyle kissed him on his mouth. "I just don't want anything to happen to you."

"I know." Logan stepped back to grab his clothes. "We now have evidence of these guys. Once they're behind bars, that will be one less nightmare for Aaron."

Kyle lifted his face upward and brushed a soft kiss on his lips.

"How about a long vacation after we find Aaron?"

"That would be great."

"I'm going to take a shower."

"Okay."

Kyle placed his phone done on the nightstand and stripped off his clothes. He entered the bathroom, with Logan sitting on the bed. He closed the door and stepped into the shower. Kyle let his head fall back as the cool water hit his body.

Through the curtain of the water, he could hear the faint ringing of a phone.

"Kyle, your phone is ringing."

Kyle shut off the water and pushed aside the curtain.

"Who is it?"

Logan shrugged, "It's an unknown number."

Kyle quickly dried his hands and took the phone from him, putting the phone on speaker. He didn't talk for a few seconds, listening to the other end.

"Kyle, can you hear me?"

His heart literally jumped at the sound of Aaron's voice.

"Aaron..."  Logan's eyes widened.

"Aaron, where are you? Are you okay?"

"I can't wait..." Aaron's voice drifted off for a bit.

"Aaron,what's going on?"

"Kyle, I'm not sure..."

Gunshots echoed over the phone, cutting off his words. Then the phone went dead.

"Shit!" Kyle jumped out the shower, still dripping wet. He dashed to the bedroom and quickly got dressed.

He flung the door open and ran down the stairs, with Logan right on his heels.

"Harold...he called me."

Harold spun around to look at him, a frown on his face. "Who called you?"

"Aaron."

"Did you get the number?"

"It's an unknown number."

Harold pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Kaia, meet me at the department." He hung up the phone then picked up his jacket that he had draped over the chair.

"I heard gunshots in the background, then the call ended."

"How many shots did you hear?"

"Four in quick succession."

"Do you think something happened to him?" Logan asked.

Kyle hugged him close. "I'm sure he's fine." But even as he said those words, Kyle's mind was in turmoil.

"We're going to head out."

"I'll call you as soon as we get any information on Aaron's location." Kyle promised.

They left the apartment building and headed to Harold's car.

"We haven't been able to find him."

"What are you thinking?" Harold asked as he drove away from the building.

"Aaron might not be in the country."
