Chase P.O.V
Sitting next to Jen hearing my parents talk about how they met in college and then started talking about their wedding day. We have heard this story plenty of times in our youth I do not know why they must keep telling it to us. Jen and I are twins, and we can recite their story me playing dad and Jen playing mom. Back when we were kids, we performed their wedding to them one Christmas and I swear that was probably the best gift we could have ever given to our mom.Dad brushed his nose with his finger for some strange reason and then everything clicked into place. Because my eyes have never left Savannah's since she's been in my house, I am captivated by her. She stands up and starts walking towards my dad's guitar how she could tell the difference between my dad's and mine is a mystery. What is she doing I don't know but I'm intrigued to find out?
She straps the guitar over her shoulder and starts playing a song, and it's a song I know how to play too. But when she starts to sing my heart stopped beating, her voice is so beautiful I had no idea she could sing and play like that.
Before I knew what I was doing I stood up and grabbed my guitar and matching Savannah in key. I can't sing for shit, but I can play guitar. My eyes were locked on Savannah as we played together, I did not take much notice that Mom and Dad stood up and started dancing to us playing their first dance as husband and wife nor did I notice that Mr. Blakemore and my sister started dancing too. I give the man props my sister is not an easy person to smooth over and it's nice of him to make her feel included.
I didn't notice anything going on around me until after the song came to an end. Savannah looked at me the entire time and at the end of the song I noticed her breathing had started to increase.
Now that is interesting, I knew I had an effect on women with my football skills, math skills, and charm but never have I affected a woman by playing music. Maybe Dad was onto something back when he was in college. Everyone started clapping to bring us back to the present I took both the guitars, put them on their stands, and left the room to go out the back for some fresh air.
I went out back sitting on the steps of the patio that leads into the garden I looked up onto the now darkened night sky seeing all the stars. I am dating a girl; a girl I have been with since sophomore year and now I'm sat outside my own house thinking about another girl. But this girl is someone I was a jackass to; this girl is someone who is exceptionally talented and is not interested in me because of my family name or because I'm linked to money. She has noticed me for me, not because of some bullshit I have no control over. This girl is someone I could see myself with in the future, if not have a future with. And that scares the living shit out of me. I need to think about what I really want right now, pulling out my phone I send a text to Candace.
Chase: Hey Candace, I'm just letting you know that I won't be meeting you under the bleachers some shit has come up during the night's festivities I need to deal with them.
I get an instant reply from her which is something I didn't expect.
Candace: Is it because of that new bitch that started today? I know she's the one around your place. Is she there with you now? You are not going to leave me for her, are you? Because you know I will ruin everything you love if you do.
What a bitch she has turned into. She is not the same girl I asked to the spring fling with sophomore year.
Chase: How did you know it was Savannah who was here? I didn't know who it was until she arrived but no, she is not here with me right now.
Candace: Adelaide saw her exit a car on your drive. She was walking past at the time, and she told me. Why didn't you?
Just as I was about to reply, a picture message came through from an unknown number. I open the picture that's just been sent to me, I instantly see red, and I almost drop my phone. It's a picture of my girlfriend in L.A kissing that prick Vance Langston on the football team from Venice High. The fucker I punched in the face and broke his nose after he sprained my ankle in a dirty tackle. He is lucky I only broke his nose during that game. But this picture that's the last straw I'm done. I asked her to never fuck around on me and I see this.
No. My relationship with Candace is over. I'm done.
Chase: Never mind about the shit that's going on at home I need to see you tomorrow meet me at the school entrance first thing.
I put my head in my hands just as the two girls come out to join me. "Chase is everything okay?" I lift my head to see Jen cautiously approach me. I did not have to say anything to her I just passed her my phone so she could see what I saw. "Oh, my god that bitch how could she and with him of all people."
"Jen I'm fully aware of everything she even knew Savannah was here tonight," I point at Savannah who is still stood by my backdoor.
"I knew she was up to something Chase; I was sure I saw something a couple of weeks ago, but I brushed it off thinking it was nothing that's why I didn't say anything."
