Chase P.O.V
All I want is just a moment of her time. I just want to explain everything. My actions for last Friday, having Candace round my house when I knew Savannah was there and mostly just to apologize. That's why I've had a quick little word with my friend Lucas to make Savannah's brownie exploder her ultimate favorite.
Instead of it being chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I asked Lucas if he could just do the one flavor of mint chocolate chip and with extra brownie pieces. I will pay the extra no problem if it gives me just a moment of her time.
"Thanks, man," I hand Lucas a twenty-dollar bill as Lucas says he won't charge me extra this time just I have to promise him I will assist him with something when he asks me as Mr. Blakemore hands Savannah her ice cream. He takes the money and pays and hands me over my change.
"No problem, man see ya in school tomorrow."
I tap the counter with my knuckles "Morning workouts as usual see ya then." I turn around to see Mr. Blakemore standing with Savannah by a table talking about something I'm not sure of as I can't quite hear it, so I approach them.
"Is everything okay?" They both turn around and look at me whilst Savannah is eating her ice cream and I see that Mr. Blakemore has a concerning look on his face whilst he's talking on the phone. A phone I didn't even hear ring surprisingly, this must be an emergency work call as nobody from the office is in at this time of night.
"Unfortunately, Chase no it's not something has happened at the North Carolina office, and I must go and deal with it," Mr. Blakemore informs me.
"Oh no is there anything I can do to help?" I offer as this business is in my blood and it will be mine when Dad retires, I need to know the ins and out of every part of every office we correspond with.
Mr. Blakemore shakes his head, "No Chase but thank you for the offer this one is a file I was dealing with before we moved and the one who took over has made a mess of everything and I need to deal with it." He wraps an arm around Savannah and kisses her on top of her head. "I have to get on home sweetpea you okay finding your own way back?"
This is it! This is my chance to have a moment alone with Savannah and talk to her. "I'll make sure she gets home safely sir." Savannah turns her head and glares at me.
"Thank you, Chase, that will be wonderful, Savannah will show you the way," Taking a bite out of his ice cream he takes his leave. So now it's just me and Savannah alone together is the parlor.
Savannah looks so beautiful sitting there at a table eating her ice cream. I just hope I get something from her for remembering her favorite desserts. Every time she has looked at me since last Friday, she has made me nervous I don't know if I can talk to her, but I need to man up and at least try and fix what I broke. So, I try and read her reaction as I take a seat at the table she is currently occupying.
"Savannah I just want to start off by apologizing for last week. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. You deserve much better than the way I acted, and I just want a moment and a chance to explain why I acted the way I did."
"Yes, Chase you're right you shouldn't have treated me the way you did. I have done nothing wrong to you except bump into you twice. I didn't ask to be attracted to you and I didn't expect it to be you at the dinner party last week. You have no idea how much you hurt me, and I don't think you ever will. I am just the new girl in the city and I'm the daughter of the VP for your family's company."
I see a tear run down her cheek and as soon as I spot it, she wipes it away breaking me even more knowing that I am the cause for her pain.
"All I want to know now Chase is why? Why did you do what you did? Why did you make me believe you had changed after Thursday night? You have no idea how big of a fool you made me feel after that night I thought we would have become closer, but I was proven wrong by your actions."
"You're right you deserve to know everything that happened after you left my house Thursday night and therefore, I am here I want a chance to explain. May I please explain everything to you?"
She sighs and stands putting her trash in the trash can and walks out the door and I follow quickly after her. When I walk out the door, I see her leaning against the railing looking out onto the water with the breeze blowing her hair. Seeing her this vulnerable my heart drops into the pit of my stomach as I walk and stand next to her.
"Here's your chance to explain Chase if you're going to hurt me more it's best be done now as it will be easier to walk away from here than it will be further down the road."
I sigh and run my hand through my hair, "I don't know where to start." Savannah then turns her head and looks at me.
"Start from after your breakup with Candace. No wait firstly I need to ask, and I need to know one thing first. Have you broken up with Candace? As when I was at your house studying with Jen you guys looked pretty comfortable."
