Walking into the kitchen I see Dad sitting in his usual seat on a Saturday morning reading his newspaper. He hears me open the fridge to grab a drink of orange juice, he puts his newspaper down.

"Good morning son how are you feeling after that tackle last night?"

"I'm feeling a little sore, but I can manage the pain it's not stopping me from my morning run today."

"That's what I like to hear you played outstanding last night Chase your mom and I are so proud of you."

"Thanks, Dad that means a lot to me." I take a sip of my drink and I grab a banana and take a seat at the table opposite Dad. Now is the best time to ask him with Jen and Mom not around.

"Hey, Dad I want to surprise Savannah at work today by sending a good luck gift and I was thinking Calla Lilies delivered to her workplace and after her shift take over an Orchid to congratulate her on her first day."

"That sounds very nice of you son, yeah so how can I help?"

"What is the number for the florist you use to buy Mom her flowers?"

He nods and digs into his business card wallet. Why Dad has one of them I will never know but I'm sure I will know sooner than I will realize. He hands me the card to his florist.

"Tell them who you are you will get a great deal and fantastic results you and Savannah will not be disappointed I promise."

"Thanks, Dad." I look down at the card knowing exactly where this is I run past it all the time I can call in once I've done my run and order them personally and then that way I can write on the card. I put the card in my armband just as Jen walks into the kitchen dressed for work.

Jen walks over and hugs me quickly first and then goes and hugs our father. "Morning Daddy."

"Morning princess you ready for a hard day at work?"

"You know it Daddy I'm training Savannah today so today's gonna be fun."

"I know you ladies will flourish at work today with your determination and Savannah's passion there is no fault there."

"I couldn't agree with you more Dad." I finish eating my banana "Well I'm off for my run I'll see you at the office later Dad I want to come in today and get some hours in."

"That's not a problem son. Would you mind working with Maxwell today? Help him with some issues in the North Carolina office, I think the two of you will have it cleared up in no time."

Working with Savannah's Dad! Yeah, I can do that perfect. "You got it, Dad." I head towards the door to start my run. "Have a good day at work today sis and wish Savannah all the best from me." I walk out the kitchen, leave the house, warm up with some stretches, and then start my run to and along the beach.

I stick to a nice steady pace and as I reach the beachfront I go to the water and star running along the wet sand pushing myself just a little harder. I have run the full length of the beach and along the boardwalk, I am now starting to feel exhausted, but I keep pumping my legs and filling my lungs with air. When I feel like I've run enough miles I start my cool down. Slowing down my heart rate I slow my run into a jog and then a gentle jog and finally to a walk.

There's a way I like to cool down once I've walked to slow my heart rate is to sit on the shoreline and watch the waves. Sitting down I take my socks and sneakers off and feel the water splashing against my toes. I only have one person on my mind as I look out onto the water and that's Savannah.

I sit here thinking about Savannah for a few minutes. Thinking every little bit about her, her golden hair, beautiful emerald eyes, those long skillful fingers of hers, and how perfectly she fits in my arms. Looking at the time I stand up, brushing the sand off my shorts, and head towards the florist. Walking along the beachfront I people watch seeing couples smiling and holding hands and young families having a fun day out. That makes me think how I can't wait for one day for that to be me and there's only one woman who comes to mind. Savannah.

I approach the florist and just as I open the door, I hear someone call out my name. I look around to see where the voice was coming from, and I see Lucas running towards me.

"Lucas, is everything okay man?"

"Yeah, all is good I saw you was coming here, and I thought maybe I could join you as I think it's time for the repayment."

"No sweat I'm here to help." We both enter the florist and look around as a sale assistant asked if we needed any assistance.

"Yeah, um... I'm looking to surprise a special someone with a single white Rose as I would like to ask her out on a date."

"How romantic we have a wide selection of Roses in all colors and the whites are in perfect bloom right now," the sales assistant helps with Lucas as I browse around first.

"The meaning of this beautiful flower is new beginnings and loyalty," the sales assistant informs Lucas.

"That sounds perfect, especially for the girl I would love to give this to. Do you have a ribbon you could possibly tie around the stem for presentation?"

"Of course, we have a wide range of colors. Do you have a particular color in mind?"

"Can't go wrong with purple Lucas trust me on that," I mention to him, and he nods in agreement.

"Yes purple. Purple is Selena's favorite color." He turns to the sales assistant who is now standing at the cash register. "Purple please."

"Coming right up. What I can do for you is use three thin ribbons one white, one lilac, and one plum."

"That sounds amazing thank you." Lucas puts money on the counter, and she hands him over the now tied single white Rose.

"How may I help you sir?"

"Oh yes my dad has told me to give you my name and that you could help me out with my request."

"Certainly, may I take your name sir?"

"Lockwood."

"Oh yes, your dad is a fantastic customer of ours how may I assist you?"

"I would like to make a couple of requests if that's possible."

"I'm sure we can help you out, sir." The assistant takes out a notepad and starts writing my name down.

"I would like to make a delivery of Calla Lilies to Back on the Beach Café today for Miss Savannah Blakemore."

"We can certainly do that today sir. We have a wide range of colors of Calla Lilies do you have a specific color in mind for this delivery?"

"What colors are there? as I thought you could only get them in white."

"We do them in white, yes and we also do pink, purple, and yellow. Would you like me to tell you the significant behind each of the color for you to make up your mind?"

"Yes, please that would be so helpful."

"Well, the white signifies purity and innocence." That sounds like Savannah. "The pink signifies appreciation and admiration." That is how I feel about Savannah. "The purple signifies charm and passion." Oh boy, this is a tough choice. "And the yellow signifies gratitude." Fuck.

"Oh, um... they all mean the everything I can describe this girl as. Is there any chance you can make a bouquet of all of them colors? As I can't choose, and I don't want to get this wrong."

"We can most certainly do that for you," She hands me a card to write my message on.
"Thanks." I take the card and write the first thing I can think of, sign it, and hand it back to the assistant.

"What is the second request you would like some assistance with?"

"Yes, do you have Orchids?"
