Chase P.O.V

After school today I was asked to head into the office for a couple of hours just to do some covers for some people as they head into unexpected meetings. I head towards Mr. Blakemore's office to hand him a couple of files Dad has asked me to give him, but strangely he was heading out of his office as I arrived.

"Hey, Mr. Blakemore sir, I have some files here for you to go over for final approval."

"Oh, Chase great thank you unfortunately your mom just gave me a call to head over to her boutique could you please leave them on my desk, and I'll go through them as soon as I come back."

"Is everything okay with my mom sir?"

"Yes, son everything is just great the girls are trying on their winter formal dresses, and I have something to give to Savannah, a necklace that I gave to her mother at our winter formal."

"That's really nice sir well please don't make me stop you from getting to the girls." I step aside and let Mr. Blakemore go past me.

I open his office door, head towards his desk, and see a velvet box on his desk. That must be the necklace he was just telling me about. Putting the files on his desk I pick up the box and open it to see the necklace inside. Inside is a delicate silver chain with an intricate snowflake charm with what looks like blue crystals in the center and for each point of the snowflake.

Closing the box, I try and reach Mr. Blakemore before he leaves to go to Mom's boutique to give it to him, but I unfortunately couldn't catch up with Mr. Blakemore before he left the office to give him the velvet box he left on his desk. I grab the box from his desk and head to Dad's office.

"Hey Dad I'm sorry but I need to leave for a little while."

"Why? What's going on?"

"I need to head to Mom's boutique Mr. Blakemore left the gift for Savannah on his desk," holding up the box I show Dad that I'm not kidding as I did used to pull something similar when I first started putting time in the office.

"Well then you better go but I am expecting you back as soon as Chase, I don't need you slacking off now."

"I know what is at risk I will not let you down."

"Good, you better not as I've still not got over that little stunt you did at your football game."

"But dad he-"

"I don't care Chase I will not accept that behavior on or off the field from the one person who will take over this company when I retire."

"Yes, sir I know what is at stake I will not let you down again." Grabbing my jacket from my desk outside Dad's office and I head towards the elevator that leads to the parking garage under the building.

Soon enough I was on the road heading towards Rodeo Drive to give the necklace to Mr. Blakemore and I might as well see my mother and sister too as I know how they can be, if I didn't say hi to them, I'm a dead man. But not as dead as I'll be if I don't head back to the office after I've done this unexpected delivery, which is not in my job description now that I've moved up in the company.

It takes longer than I thought to get to the boutique thanks to traffic coming into the city, but I manage to park behind either what looks like Savannah's car or even Selena's since this is only a quick stop, I should be fine here without paying for parking. If I get a ticket I'll pay with my earnings, I won't put it through any of the businesses it's the least I can do.

After getting out of the car and locking up I buzz the intercom outside Mom's store to gain access.

"Hey, Charlene, it's me."

"Oh, hi Chase come on in," the door buzzes and I open it to see everyone standing around in the main stage area as my mom calls it. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a shimmer of the lightest blue I could ever see go into the fitting room and I feel my heartbeat race for some unknown reason. I don't think I could ever forget that color I just hope nobody else at the winter formal is wearing that color.

"Chase darling what are you doing here?" I walk over to my mom giving her a kiss on the cheek, walking over to my sister, and wrapping an arm over her shoulder.

"Mr. Blakemore you left this on your desk," I hand him over the box "You were saying about wanting to give this to Savannah and I didn't want you thinking you lost it, sir."

"Thank you Chase I was wondering if I left it at the office or if I lost it, so glad it was at the office as my late wife would haunt me if I ever lost this."

He opens the box and looks at its content and he smiles, by the looks of it I would say every time he sees that necklace he sees the younger version of his wife, who probably has similarities to Savannah.

"I will never forget the day I gave this to Georgina and her reaction; it was one of the happiest days of my life."
