Outside by our cars, I told the girls what I got told today and they were ecstatic for me. I told them everything that was said and what I need to do to make sure I have a chance for the scholarship.
Jen said, "Don't worry about the recommendation as you know my dad would be more than happy to give you a glowing letter of recommendation after when he heard you play for my mom before Chase joined in and made it something else."
"Jen, did you just say your brother plays guitar? Oh, my god I know I shouldn't be saying this to you but hearing that has just made him ten times hotter." Jen gagged at Selena's comment, and I laughed because I thought and repeated when he put the guitar over his shoulder and started playing the song with me.
Even though I want to forget about him I just can't seem to. I refuse to stop being friends with Jen because of him, she has done nothing wrong toward me. She has been the loyal friend everyone wants to have in their lives. And the same goes for Selena and Greg too.
When I departed from the girls, I came straight home hoping that Dad would be home from the office. Even though it's his first day at his new office and I was at the dance committee meeting I hope we are still doing the same arrangements as when we were back in North Carolina. I'm not holding my breath on it as with the promotion comes with bigger responsibilities with longer and harder hours. Luckily when I arrive home, I see Dad's car in the driveway.
I climb out of my car smiling, I lock up and head on into the house. "Dad" I call out for him, dropping my bag at the bottom of the stairs so I can take it up to my room later and heading towards his office. Knocking on his office door, I hear him talking away to whoever is on the phone. I pop my head in and wave at him for getting his attention, he then held up his hand to me saying hi then he pointed in the direction of the kitchen and told me he will be there in five minutes. I nod at him, removing my head from his office, closing the door behind me and I make my way into the kitchen.
When I got into the kitchen, I see Toni standing over the stove cooking something that smells unbelievable, I grab a glass from the cupboard, walk over to the fridge, and made myself some orange juice.
"Hi Toni, what are you cooking tonight? It smells amazing."
"Why thank you Savannah dear, I am cooking a family special linguini and meatballs in a rich tomato Bolognese sauce and mushrooms." Taking a sip of my juice whilst taking a seat at the breakfast bar.
"Wow that sounds amazing I can't wait to taste it."
I was sat down making small talk with Toni trying to get to know her. I've learned she's got two sons both in the army and they are currently deployed overseas, and she just want someone to care for, as she hates feeling lonely. So that's why Dad has hired her to be our housekeeper, so she has some company and someone to care for. Both Toni and I laugh at something one of her sons said to her in one of the letters he sent her as Dad comes into the kitchen kissing the top of my head and taking a seat next to me at the breakfast bar.
"So, Dad you know how we did some research over the weekend about colleges?" He nods as he takes a sip of the orange juice that Toni put in front of him. "Well, I spoke to the college advisor and my music teachers, and I have been told some amazing news," Dad sits there looking at me urging me to continue and tell him the news. "I am being considered for a scholarship at Berkeley University in the music program."
