A Little Cinderella Moment

Chapter 41

Wait what? Love! Did Chase just say, love? Surely, he's not admitting he's in love with me. I've only lived in Santa Monica for a week. It can't be love this soon, could it? We've not even been on a date; we've not even kissed each other. Or am I reading too much into this. 

Chase checks his watch. "I better get going I've gotta go help Lucas out with something." Chase stands up and offers his hand for me to help me up and I happily accept it. 

"Is it to do with his date with Selena tonight?" 

"Yeah, he's a wreck and he's wanting my help to plan everything as we know both Selena and Lucas like to stick to schedules." 

"That's true yeah." We start walking towards the front door. 

"I'm gonna try and help him plan a memorable date for them as he's got no clue what to do." 

"Similar to what me and Jen have been asked to do. Selena has asked us to go to her house to help her get ready for the date." 

When we reach the door, we both reach for the handle to open it together. Our heads snap up the moment they touch the door. And we open it together. 

"Well, I hope everything goes well your end with Selena." 

"Same with you and Lucas. I know everything will be great for them if you are helping him." 

Chase leans down and kisses my cheek and steps out the door. "Thanks, Savannah I hope to see you around." 

"See you around Chase." He walks off towards his car and I shut the door behind me. 

I don't know what the hell just happened between us I'm more confused than I was before. It's a good job I'm seeing the girls sooner than later so we can talk about it together and see what they think. And then when I get home after helping Selena I will video call my NC girls and see how they are doing and talk to them about everything that has happened since we spoke last week.

I swear time is moving faster right now as I'm now freshly showered and changed, some bits are thrown into a bag, and I am in my car driving toward Selena's. Jen rang me just before I jumped in the shower asking me if I could pick her up so we could arrive together. The sooner we're started the calmer Selena will be, as she has told us.

Jen was standing outside her house on the sidewalk already waiting for me. I pulled up outside so Jen could climb into my car. Once she got in and buckled herself up, we sped down the street to get to an anxious Selena who has none stopped texting me and constantly ringing Jen, just to see where we are, how long are we gonna be, and how soon until we arrive.

Selena met us at her front door when we pulled up and parked the car dressed in a white fluffy bathrobe and her hair wrapped up in a towel. We climbed out the car and started walking up towards her with everything we brought in our hands.

"It's about time you got here I am freaking out. Lucas is going to be here in an hour, and I don't know what to wear."

Jen grabbed one of her free hands to try and calm her down. "Sel don't panic okay we are here, and we are going to help you get ready so you can have the best time of your life tonight."

"How are you so confident about this Jen it's Lucas. THE Lucas. The hot shot school's quarterback and he is interested in me."

"Sel, I know something you and Jen probably don't know."

They both look at me as we walk through Selena's house into her bedroom saying hi to her parents on our way. "What's that?" They both say in unison.

"Chase is at Lucas' house as we speak helping him plan the date and if what Chase did for me today is any significant of romance then your date with Lucas will be a killer."

Jen looks at me with one eyebrow raised just like how The Rock did back in the 90's when he was wrestling. I know a fair bit about wrestling from back then as Dad is a huge fan of his and I have seen old photos of him. Selena sits down on her vanity stool looking in the mirror as Jen starts brushing her hair.

"How do you know that?"

"Chase came to my house shortly after I arrived home from work."

They both looked shocked in the mirror and turned and looked at me. "He what?"

"Again, seriously are you sure you two are not the twins as you guys do that more often than you think you do." We all laugh over that relaxing the tension in the room.

"What do you mean when you say my brother was at your house after you got home from work."

"He wanted to see what I thought of the flowers he sent me at work today."

"Woah, hold on back up the phone a minute. Chase sent you the flowers oh my god that is so sweet, but I don't know why he wouldn't do it in person like Lucas did." Selena is confused on why Chase didn't make the same romantic gesture.

"Nor do I but that's not all he did he even gave me a rare Orchid plant too."

"So that's what that was. When I walked into the kitchen to get my breakfast this morning Chase and Dad were talking about flowers. Oh, he's sneaky I wish he had told me."
