A Little Cinderella Moment

Chapter 119

Three weeks later

Tonight is prom night. The night all the senior girls look forward to the most. Don't ask me about the guys some look forward to it for other reasons than what it means. The girls and I are getting ready together. We all booked to get our hair and makeup done at a salon today for tonight. We are sat in the chairs getting pampered away, a treat from Selena's Abuela, as she said no Nieta of hers will not go to prom without having a beauty day at the salon. We all chose to have a French manicure and pedicure, to keep it simple. We also showed our makeup artists pictures of our dresses so they could do our makeup to match our dresses.

Jen's hair shaped her face beautifully. She had a volumized high ponytail with some hair extensions that matched her hair color perfectly with elegant curls and some curls framing her face. To finish the look off she had this black jeweled crystal hair clip she slid into the top part of the ponytail. Jen's makeup made her look much older than she is, it was painted for the gods as I've heard some people say. She had this summer glow look with contour, a skin tone eye shadow with a hint of pink too to shape her eyes with some eyeliner and to top it off some fake eyelashes. A light brush of some blusher on her cheeks, and a dusky rose looking colored lip. Jen looks breathtaking I can't wait to see her final look.

Selena however is a natural beauty she didn't need much makeup on. With her olive skin tone, she just glows naturally. For her hair she made a messy bun look classy. It was an updo with her hair put into a ponytail and sections of the hair wrapped and gathered together, clipped in with the odd loose tendrils going around her hair and down her back. She made it look beautiful. Wanting to add a little bit of sparkle into her hair style she asked her Tía if she could borrow the headband she wore to her wedding as she thinks it will go perfectly with her hair and dress. It is a simple black band with a huge pink and clear crystal motif glued to the band. We have not seen each other's dresses wanting to do a first reveal once we are back and getting dressed. Her makeup makes her look timeless foundation and contour cover her face beautifully. Her eyes are unbelievable she has pink and blue eyeshadow blended together to make it look as one eyeshadow palette. Similar to Jen she also had a little bit of eyeliner and fake eyelashes. She also had a light brush of blusher in a slightly darker shade and some highlighter with a bold pink lip. Lucas will be knocked off his feet with how she looks.

For me, my hair has been a little hard to tame lately with the humidity that's happening right now in California. Yeah, I admit it was hot and humid like this back in North Carolina but at least I could have worn a cowboy hat to help control it. But I cannot wear a cowboy hat for prom. So instead, my hair stylist has parted my hair in three parts. The first part she left it to shape and frame my face and she has curled it nicely. The second part my hair was braided on both sides of my head and clipped together at the nape of my neck. The final part was put into waves and tied into a low bun at the nape of my neck to hide where the braids are clipped and joined together. But as they were styling and clipping my hair into place, they weaved in this wired headband in that had pearls, clear crystals and blue crystals on it. It nestled in nicely where it didn't scratch my head or feel too heavy. For my makeup they didn't want to do much because they said my complexion looks like porcelain, so they didn't want to cover it too much. I had a blend of blue and white eyeshadow with a small cat winged eyeliner and some fake eyelashes too. I had a dusting of blusher in a rose pink and a rose pink shade lip.

Once we were finished, we got a picture took together at the salon and then went to our next destination to get dressed. My house. As the girls and I are upstairs in my room getting our dresses on, all the parents, and I mean ALL the parents arrive at my house. Thet all said they wanted to see us all off together. The guys split the payment for a limo for the six of us as we didn't want to arrive separately. While the parents waited downstairs, and the guys were getting ready at Lucas' I am sat on my bed draped in my bathrobe waiting for Selena to exit my bathroom.
