A Little Cinderella Moment

Chapter 122

It has been a couple of weeks since prom and the big day is approaching quickly. Today we get our yearbooks and get them signed before graduation day that is this Saturday. It's hard to believe this is our final week in high school. It feels like today is still my first day of school but it's actually almost my last. Not paying attention to where I was going or who was around me with my yearbook in hand I collide into a big, solid mass of a person knocking my books, my yearbook, and some odd bits of paper all over the floor. Bending down to pick everything up, still not paying attention to who I bumped in to, on instinct I do apologize to the person as I start picking up my things. I see the person I bumped into bend down and starts to help me with picking up my things and holds out my English book and my notes to hand back to me. I can't believe I've done this again.

"You may need these sweetheart," Hang on a minute? Did I just? Looking up I see Chase smiling at me as he holds my stuff out for me to take from him. Did I just bump into Chase again? Just like on my first day here? Surely, I didn't just relive a de ja vu again. Taking the things from Chase we both stand up and laugh over what just happened. As I look around at our surroundings, I see that I am standing in the same hall, Chase is with the same crowd of people, minus one of course, and we are in the same spot to where we first met when I first bumped into him. I am so embarrassed right now; I can feel the heat on my cheeks turning pink from it.

"I'm so sorry Chase I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," Chase pulls me into a hug and kisses the top of my head with a soft chuckle to my apology.

"Please don't apologize sweetheart, this has just made me fall in love with you all over again. It's making me remember those feelings I felt for you the first time this happened to how I feel for you now is exactly the same if not more. I wouldn't change that meeting or this one for the world." Placing another kiss but this time on my lips he asked me, "What has you looking down and not paying attention to where you're going Savannah?"

"Oh, that yeah, I was messaging my dad quickly because I have just been told some news from Mrs. McIntyre and I wanted him to be the first to know and then I was going to come look for you and the others to tell you together."

Just on time the other three walked around the corner as Lucas was already standing there with Chase just as Greg asked, "Tell us what?" Their timing could not have been more perfect if they had tried, I think.

"Well, I have just come from seeing Mrs. McIntyre and she has told me I have been honored with the music achievement award at graduation." A round of cheers, hugs and congratulations were passed to me not just from my small group of friends but by the other football players who were standing with Chase when I bumped into him again accidentally.

"That is fantastic news sweetheart I am so proud of you," Chase picks me up and spins me around in a circle making me feel all giddy. He didn't stop spinning me until Mr. Turner stopped him in case, he hurt another student or myself.

"I'm so happy to have caught you actually Savannah, I just wanted to grab a quick word with you if I may?"

"Of, course Mr. Turner," I step away from Chase and walk a short distance away with Mr. Turner for him to have a quick word with me. Little did I know that this conversation is very similar to the conversation to the one I had not long ago with Mrs. McIntyre. It turns out that I am also honored with the English achievement award too. When Mr. Turner shook my hand in congratulations, we could hear my friends cheering around the corner from where we stood. MR. Turner laughs at them, and he tells me to keep friend like them around as it is rare you find loyal friends just like them. He is right it is rare to find true loyal friends like I have. That is not just my California friends but also my friends back in North Carolina.
