Savannah P.O.V

Today is the day of this mystery date with Chase tonight. I wonder what it could be? He said to dress warm and comfortable so it can't be at a fancy restaurant. Maybe it could be an outside movie theatre? Well whatever Chase has planned if it's anything like our first date a couple of days ago then, I can't wait.
After getting home last night from the Lockwood's house I asked Dad if he didn't mind me going on a late-night date with Chase and what he told me I couldn't believe it I had to get him to repeat what he said. "Baby girl, I already know about the date. Chase told me what he had planned and asked if it was all right and I gave him my full support. It's nice that he asked me, he's a good man, I want you to be happy as long as you are happy then I am happy."
What has Chase and my dad been talking about when I'm not around? Well, whatever it is as long as my dad is not wanting to kill Chase, I'll take it.
Throughout the day I have been messaging Jen to see if she knew what her brother has planned for us tonight. Unfortunately, Jen has no clue. She didn't even know that Chase had planned a date. Maybe in the new year, we get to go on a group date and all six of us could have a fun day.
Time is getting on; I think I should stop trying to spoil Chase's surprise and do as I said yesterday to do. Trust him. I start to get ready for my date when Chase texted me saying he will be a couple of minutes late, but he will make it up to me when we get to where we are going.
Putting on a sweater and jeans with my sneakers I feel warm and comfortable. Just as Chase said to dress for this date. Keeping my makeup light and simple and tying my hair back I think I am ready. Grabbing a jacket from my closet I head on downstairs to see my dad and Chase talking in the main hall. As they hear me approach, they stop talking and turn to look in my direction smiling.
"You look stunning Savannah," Chase said as he walked to the bottom of the stairs and takes my hand, and guided me down the last few steps.
"Thanks Chase you look rather dashing yourself," I tell Chase smiling at him.
"Right, I will leave you both to it. Have a fun night but don't be out all night, okay?" My dad says looking directly at Chase with his last comment.
I walk over to my father and give him a kiss on his cheek and turn his head to look at me, "Dad, we will not be out all night have a little more faith in Chase and more trust in me. You do trust me don't you Dad?"
"Of course, I trust you baby girl, and you're right I should have a little more faith in Chase. Don't forget I was your age at one point, and I know what goes through an eighteen-year-old boy's head." He sighs and walks over to Chase and offers him his hand "I'm sorry Chase, Savannah is right."
Chase takes his hand, and they have a firm handshake "Of course, sir as Savannah said we will not be out all night I have more respect for her than that as well as my respect for you. I would never force her to do anything she is not ready for, and I respect her boundaries."
"Thant's what every father wants to hear son," Dad pats Chase on his arm. "Thank you for respecting my baby girl the way you are. Just please don't let us down."
"I would rather cut off my arm and eat it before letting Savannah down," I walk over to Chase and take hold of his hand.
"You both better get going if you wanna beat the heavy traffic that you get at this time of night."
"Okay, Dad don't be up too late working yourself either. It's still the holidays you deserve to have some time off to rest." Knowing my dad as soon as we leave, he will head into his office, and he will still be in there by the time I come home later. I swear he's more of a workaholic now than he was back in North Carolina.
Walking out of the house and to Chase's car, he opens my door for me, just as I climb into the car he turns and asks me if my dad will listen to me when I mention about him working all night. Looking up at him after I sit in the car, I tell him "I know he will still be working when you bring me home later, if not he would have fallen asleep at his desk in the office."
Chase shuts my door and walks around and gets into the driver's seat, "to be honest with you Savannah, my dad would be doing exactly the same thing, he was in his office when I left, he's probably still in there now unless my mom drags him out to be with her tonight he'll be in his office working."
Starting the car Chase drives out of the driveway and heads right as we drive down the road I ask if I could put on some music and of course as always Chase put on a playlist named Classic Car Tunes. As we head down the I10 a very familiar song fills the speakers. I turn and look at Chase and he glances at me quickly we smile at each other, and we both start to sing along to 'Mustang Sally' by The Commitments.
We drive down the road for what feels about half an hour if not longer until I read one of the road signs to where we could possibly be going. So, I ask him "Are we going to Hollywood?" Chase nods. "What are your plans for this date?"
"We are going to have a candlelight picnic under the Hollywood sign looking out over the nightlife of the city." Oh, wow that is one hell of a date and I'm looking forward to seeing the city of Hollywood up in the hills. He chose well for his winning of the bet.
