"You're in love with me?" Jumping out of my skin, I turn around and see Jen standing there in shock and her breathing almost erratic.

"Jesus fucking Christ Jen, are you trying to give me a heart attack?" Jen looks at Chase when he made his comment.

"Fuck you Chase," She turns her attention back to Greg. "Is it true? You're in love with me?" Greg stands up from his chair, walks over, and stands in front of Jen. He takes hold of her hands and lifts them, so they are at her chest height.

"Yes, Jen I'm so in love with you. I was an asshole in the past but my feelings for you have never changed, only intensified. I never forgave myself for hurting you back then, but I'm here now opening my heart to the most beautiful, smart, skillful person I have ever met. I think I've never stopped loving you. I cannot go another day without you knowing the truth. I understand if you don't feel the same way, but I will work my fucking ass off to prove to you that I'm worth it, because you're worth it."

"That day when you came around my house with that shiner on your face." She turns and looks at her brother, "Thanks for that bro." Chase shrugs his shoulder and lifts a hand in a gesture that looks like no sweat. "You destroyed me, you hurt me so bad I never thought I'd forgive you. But as time went on, I think I know now why you did it. Doesn't make it any easier to think back to that day, all I care about is the here and now."

"And how do you feel in the here and now Jen?" I ask her feeling the hesitation in her voice, not knowing if she's gonna tell him or not. Jen looks at Greg with them big eyes of hers, thinking about everything, she smiles up at him and confesses her truth.

"I love you too Greg, I don't think I ever stopped loving you." As soon as Jen told her truth, Greg crashed his lips against hers in a deep passionate kiss.

Chase coughs trying to get their attention. "Jen, please I don't want to witness my sister and her boyfriend sucking faces."

They end their kiss, and we all laugh as the happy couple hug. "It's not like you were not doing the same a few minutes ago bro," Jen jokes at her brother just as Sel and Lucas join us back at the table, and Greg places a gentle kiss on Jen's forehead. "Oh, before I forget Sav you're wanted up on stage when the band takes a break."

"What? Why would I be wanted up on stage? Jen, please tell me you didn't?"

"Didn't what? Jen, what did you do?" Chase asks acting protective over me.

"I've asked and arranged for Sav to get on stage to sing a song or two for us before we do awards." I love Jen to pieces, but I wasn't expected to get up on stage to sing tonight, I was just here as an organizer and attendee.

"That's a great idea and all sweet cheeks, but do you honestly think Sav is going to wanna sing here tonight on her birthday?" Greg does have a point. Don't get me wrong I love performing but tonight? I don't know.

"Hold up a second there Greg, what did you just say?" Chase stands from his chair and walks up to Greg seeming more confused than any of us right now.

"It's okay Chase, the rest of us found out earlier on tonight too. Our sweet little Savannah forgot to tell her friends that today is her birthday." Chase turns and looks at me, then he crouches down so he's at eye level with me.

"Sweetheart, why did you feel that you had to hide your birthday from your friends? From me?" I guess he does have a point. I shouldn't have kept this from them.

"I have my reasons, but it doesn't matter now, it's out in the open," standing up from my chair, and Chase stands up with me. "I'll do it."

"Are you sure sweetheart? Just because Jen arranged it without your consent doesn't mean you have to do it," Chase rubs his hand up and down my arm giving me comfort and support. I lean up and place a soft peck of a kiss on his lips.

"It's fine Chase, I don't mind thinking about it I should as it will help out with the scholarship application."

"Only if you're sure sweetheart?" Chase strokes my cheek slowly, and in that moment my body turns into melted butter under his touch.

"It's just a song or two, it's fine, I promise." I take hold of his wrist as he's still holding my cheek and give him a comforting squeeze, I leave my friends and boyfriend, a man that's a good but strange thing to call Chase. So, yeah, I leave them and head toward the stage.

Talking to the band they agreed to play two songs with me. We discussed what songs and in what key suits all of us and came to an agreement. Walking up on the stage with the band, I head toward the microphone, a spotlight hits me almost blinding me, I talk into the mic.

"Hi everyone, are y'all having a good time tonight." The crowd cheers, hearing that means tonight has been a hit. "Hope you don't mind but I have been asked to sing a couple of songs for y'all, is that okay with you?" I ask the crowd and again they are cheering so I'm assuming it's a yes. I turn and talk to the band to say what some we're going to start with. "I'm gonna start with a slow one for you, so grab your dates and hit the floor."

The band plays the intro to 'How Do I Live' by LeAnn Rimes, when I sing the opening line 'How do I get through one night without you,' my eyes find Chase in the crowd, he's leaning against the wall near our group's table, with his arms crossed over his chest, I can't read the expression on his face.
