"You really are a charmer, aren't you?" I chuckle softly at her comment.
"I have been told I can be from my sister, but thanks for the compliment. Shall we go on in?" I open the doors for us, and we walk on into the ballroom.
Walking in I feel all eyes on us, but I cannot take my eyes off of Dream. I can see my sister with Greg alongside Lucas with his girlfriend Selena sitting at a table nearby but no Savannah. Looking at Jen as I lead Dream onto the dance floor the smile on her face is so big it seems like she's witnessing a dream of her own. Once on the dance floor I look at Dream and ask her something I have never done at a school dance.
"Would you like to dance?" I hold out my hand for her to take and I hear the softest of whispers come out of her mouth just as the band plays the song 'This Christmas night.'
"Yes." When the first line of the song starts With a touch of your hand, suddenly I knew, Dream places her hand in mine and I feel a jolt of electricity shoot through my body, I look at our hands now touching and then back up into them beautiful emerald-green eyes that's shining behind her mask to see Dream smiling at me and I smile back at her hoping she felt the jolt just like I did.
Bringing her closer to me as I wrap my hand around her back and kept hold of her hand and she rests her free hand on my shoulder. As we start to sway to the music my eyes never leave hers. I raise my hand and spin her around and when she comes back into my arms, I see a sparkle from her necklace. I give her necklace a quick glance to see it sparkle under the lights, to see none other than a snowflake. It looks vaguely familiar; it looks like Mr. Blakemore's snowflake necklace. The same snowflake necklace Mr. Blakemore was going to give to.
Oh. My. God. No wonder why Jen looked so happy when she saw us come into the ballroom. No wonder why Savannah isn't sitting at the table with her friends. Savannah is Dream. I don't know how I didn't realize the similarities. The eyes, smile, the fact she said North Carolina how many times now? How could I be so stupid?
"I didn't know you knew how to waltz Wolf." She doesn't know it's me nor does she know I know who she is. Now do I drop hints or just go with the flow? I decide to go with the flow.
"Thanks, my mom made me, and my sister take dance lessons in our early teens for reasons I now understand."
"Your mom must be an incredible woman."
"She's one of the best there is." I sweep Savannah across the dance floor losing ourselves in the music.
Spinning her twice more I know now that what I felt for Savannah at that dinner party and what I'm feeling for her now is something magical. With Savannah in my arms, it feels like we are the only two in the ballroom. With the song coming to an end, I pull her as close as she possibly can to my body, brush her cheek with the back of my fingers, feeling how soft her skin is under my touch.
Never taking my eyes off her, I cup her face as she looks at me, I look into her eyes to see if she is giving me permission to continue. She lifts her head up and I slowly lower myself and brush my lips gently against hers. Time has frozen still when our lips meet. This kiss is nothing like I have felt before, especially when it comes to first kisses. I have no other choice right now but to break away from the kiss as soon as I do I miss the feel of them against mine.
"Savannah," I whisper softly against her lips; I hear a gasp from her, and she takes a step back to look at me.
"Excuse me?" I can see I've scared her, so I walk her off the dance floor and out into the hallway. Once out in the hallway and see there is nobody out here, I gently nudge her toward the wall and take off my mask. Within a matter of a minute, she gasps again when realization hits her. "Chase? You're Wolf?"
Before I can say another word Jen comes rushing out of the ballroom, spots us, and heads in our direction. "Oh, my god guys I can't believe it. I mean yeah, I had my suspicions, but I can't believe it."
"Yeah, it's a bit unreal for me too Jen as I've just found out it was your brother who I have been talking to all along," Savannah confesses. I can't read if she's pissed or pleased that it's me. Savannah is right on one statement this moment finding out who we are is unreal.
"Wait did you guys not know?"
"When did you find out it was us, Jen?" I look at her hoping she will tell me the truth. Knowing my twin sister though, she set this all up.
"I had my suspicions when you made Mom and me watch that movie, and when I was at Sav's studying I saw the DVD. But I found out tonight just before you guys met up when Sav said she was going to meet the guy she's been talking to online for months called Wolf, and weeks ago you told me your date for the ball was someone you call Dream."
"Look it doesn't matter anymore we now know the truth. To be honest Savannah," I tilt her chin up with my finger, so she is looking at me. "I'm happy that it is you standing here with me and nobody else. I secretly wished it to be you, Savannah."
"You did? But why? I don't understand."
"Besides all the obvious hints that you said to me, I think I fell in love with you the moment we played 'Stand By Me'."
For the second time since I've met this gorgeous goddess, I'm laying all my cards out on the table for her. This is the first time in months if not years that I'm opening my heart for her. Whilst I was dating Candace, I thought I was in love with her, but thinking back to how I felt then, and how I feel for Savannah are completely different. I now know what I felt back then was nothing, and this feeling now is the real deal. At this moment I want nothing more but to kiss Savannah again, but with my sister present too it's a little uncomfortable.
"What did you just say, Chase?" What does she want me to say? I have told her nothing but the truth. I always have.
"What part do you want me to repeat Savannah?" I ask her as I brush her cheek with my knuckles. She looks at me and gives me that smile I know is just for me.
"The good part." She bites her bottom lip. On instinct, I brush my thumb from my free hand to release her lip from her teeth. I lean in closer to her, so we are nose to nose.
"I'm in love with you Savannah."
