I put my drink down on the floor next to me as I turn around to look at Chase. "So, before you tell me about the meanings behind the flowers you have bought me could you answer a couple of things for me first?"

Chase copies what I just did by putting his drink down after taking a sip and turning towards me. "Hit me I'm an open book."

"Why did you send the bouquet of Calla Lilies? I know you said on the card it was to wish me luck on my first day at my new job and that is really sweet but what is the motive behind you sending them?"

"I did it for a couple of reasons Savannah. I sent them because I thought you deserved something to put a smile on your face and I assume they did." I nod at him in agreement that yes, they did make me smile. "And because I care about you so much, I wanted to show you that I care and that I listen to what you have said."

"I can tell that you do, and I appreciate it very much I can't stop thanking you. You are the only guy who has ever surprised me with flowers and given me them too."

"I'm happy that I am the first guy to show you that you are worthy of that smile you can't seem to lose."

Have I been smiling this whole time? No wonder why my cheeks have been hurting.

"That's really sweet of you Chase so tell me please. You have me fascinated with what you have learned about these flowers."

He chuckles at what I have just said. "You are certainly something Savannah, but what I have learned especially about the Calla Lilies is depending on what color you get, depends on the meaning behind them."

"Wow, I didn't know that."

"Neither did I, but when the florist told me about the meaning behind the colors in your bouquet, I couldn't just pick one I had to pick them all."

I nod at him. "Okay, so what are the meanings behind the colors in the bouquet?"

"The white means purity and innocence and to me, you are so pure and innocent I couldn't say no. There's just something about you that I can't describe that makes me think that."

"That's really sweet of you to think that about me Chase. So, what about the other colors?"

"If I tell you them all in one can you promise me that you won't interrupt until I have finished?"

"I promise I won't say another word until you have said that you have finished."

"Thank you, so as I was saying the pink means appreciation and admiration, the purple means charm and passion, and the yellow means gratitude."

He takes a breath running his fingers through his hair. I don't know why that looks sexy on him, or if it's because of his bulging biceps every time he does it, I can't tear my eyes away from them.

"Did you find out what an Orchid means?"

He nods "I did yeah."

"Would you like to tell me?"

He chuckles lightly, "I was getting to it until I got distracted. But forget about the distraction for now." He shakes it off like it was nothing, that was a little confusing but maybe he will tell me one day I'm not going to push him. "Here's where it's a little hard for me to say."

I reach out and take his hand. "Chase, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I just want you to be comfortable around me."

"Savannah that's not the problem at all, the meaning behind the Orchid is what makes it difficult for me to think about. I have these feelings for you I have never felt before. Not even for Candace. And that is scaring me a little. I don't know what to do about them or how to express them to you."

"If you can't express anything right now, then don't explain. Please don't think that I'm pressuring you. I could never live with myself if I made you feel like that."

"Savannah, the meaning behind the Orchid is love, luxury, beauty, and strength."
