I wake up early on a Monday morning and I do my normal weekday morning routine. Shower, dry, dress, hair, makeup, breakfast, and drive off to school. I still feel a little jetlagged from the flight yesterday, but I will power through as I wanna make sure everything is cool between me and Chase. I know I will have Jen on me as soon as I pull into the parking lot as I didn't speak to her before I left her house last night. I also know that Selena will want a catch-up on everything that's happened if she doesn't already know.
I pull into the parking lot and see Chase and Jen leaning against their cars with Selena and Lucas standing with them. I presume they are waiting for me to arrive. Chase is talking with Lucas, and I see Jen has spotted me and she pulls Selena away from the guys and heads in my direction. I park up and climb out of my car just as I turn around the girls are standing there staring at me with their arms crossed.
"Umm... hello?"
"What the fuck Sav?"
"Huh."
"You were at my house last night and you heard what Chase, and I were talking about last night didn't you?"
"Okay yes, you're right I did hear some of it, but I only just got there when you came out. I'm sorry I should have made myself known soon as I arrived, so you guys knew I was there."
"Sav it's not that you listened in on the conversation. I don't care if you heard it or not. It's the fact that you came over, spoke to my dad and Chase and neither one of them will tell me what you spoke about."
"Oh that. I came over to apologize to both your dad and Chase for what happened yesterday at the office. I should have told you I was coming and for that I'm sorry."
"Your damn right you should have told me, and you should still tell me what you and Chase spoke about outside as you guys looked pretty cozy in that hug poolside last night."
"What? You and Chase hugged poolside last night?" Selena looks in complete shock over that statement.
"It was nothing it was just a friendly embrace me saying thank you to him for forgiving me."
"It looked a lot more than that Sav you guys were hugging for quite some time." I can't believe Jen was spying on us last night. She must have been spying from a window looking out back or something.
"That must mean something Jen as we both know your brother hasn't been a touchy person for a year and a half."
"That's true he still doesn't hug me, and we shared a womb." We all cringe as that is nothing but disturbing to hear this early on a Monday morning, and I say so to them.
"Okay that's disturbing for this early on a Monday morning. Look girls nothing happened, nothing is happening, Chase and I are only friends."
"If that's what you say." Selena questions my honest statement.
"It is Sel, there's nothing more to say."
"I give it until our 18th birthday party on New Year's Eve before something happens between you guys." Why do I feel like a wager is about to happen between us about Chase and me?
"Really? That long?" Selena looks at Jen, "I give it until the Christmasqurade Ball for something to happen."
"Speaking of the ball, is the meeting still happening after school today? I want to discuss color theme for the decorations."
"Yeah, it's still going ahead I've got the band booked and I can't wait to see your faces on who I've got."
"Any hints? You know how I hate surprises. Hence why I was at your house last night."
"Sorry Sav but I am sworn to secrecy."
Selena and I look at each other and then we look at Jen and raise one of our eyebrows. "By whom?"
"Now that's the secret" Jen winks at us, turns around and walks away into school.
