Savannah P.O.V
Today is the day. It's the Christmasqurade Ball today and I could not be any happier. The whole dance committee was at the mansion manor house all afternoon and most of the evening decorating and getting everything prepared for today.Freshly out of the shower, I leave my hair wrapped up in my hair towel to absorb most of the moisture as I get everything together to get ready. I arranged with the girls that I would make my own way there as I don't want them knowing who I plan on meeting at the ball.
They are aware of Wolf, but they don't know all the details. They think I'm crazy for wanting to meet a guy I don't know that well, but it just feels right. Every time I have spoken about him to them, they say my smile is bigger and brighter, and I look like I have a glow every time his name is mentioned, I even heard Sel say once I'm a lovesick puppy. I can't be in love with a guy I've never met, can I?
Well, it's time I start doing my hair and makeup. Starting with my hair, I spray some heat protection on my hair so I can dry it more before I curl it. Once it's dried and curled to how I like it, I grabbed some bobby pins from my dresser and started pinning my hair up into a low bun leaving a couple on tendrils hanging at the back. Once I'm satisfied with how it looks, I grab my newly bought crystal snowflake hair comb and hook it in my hair near the bun on the right side of my head then use some hairspray to seal everything into place.
Now my makeup, I'm not really that good when it comes to formal looks, but I can do the basic blush mascara and gloss okay but I'm wanting to go a little bolder with this look I just hope I can pull it off. After watching a ton of makeup tutorials and practices I think I'm happy with the look I am going for. Putting on a light coat of foundation and contour and blend it in to my face to give myself a light glow and shape, I add a light coating of blush onto my cheeks and now it's time for my eyes.
My eyes were a little trickier I did a blue and silver smokey eye look blending them together and adding my mascara, looking at my reflection in my vanity mirror I am amazed at how the makeup turned out. It looks better than I have ever imagined. Last final touches of my makeup I add my bubblegum pink shade lip gloss and then finally spraying my makeup setting spray to keep the look all night.
Time is ticking by I need to start getting into my dress and hit the road if I want to avoid the traffic. I strap on my silver shoes and step into my dress. Once I fasten it at the back it still feels amazing on me, and it hugs me in all the right places. Dress on, hair done, makeup done, perfume check, all I need to do now is jewelry and the mask.
Sitting down at my vanity I put in my simple diamond studded earring and my silver Pandora charm bracelet with one single charm on it in the shape of a snowflake. I seem to be going with a snowflake theme with my look, and then the final touch I fasten the mask ribbons to the back of my head and make sure it's secured in place.
Standing in front of my long-standing mirror looking back at what I see there was a knock on my door.
"Come on in Dad," my dad steps inside of my room and looks at me, I turn around and look at him. "Well, what do you think?"
"Sweetpea, you look so beautiful, just like your mother was at our winter formal. I just wish she was here with us to see you right now."
"Me too Daddy, me too," Dad walks up to stand in front of me and turns me around to look at my reflection in the mirror.
"The last time I saw you wear your dress we were at the store, and I tried to give you the gift I gave your mother, but I accidentally left it at the office," he puts his hand in his inner jacket pocket and pulls out a velvet box. "But I now have it with me," he opens the box and pulls out the most beautiful necklace I have ever seen, he lifts it over my head and rests it on my neck as he fastens the clasp, As soon as he was finished, I instantly touched the charm. "Your mother wore this necklace three times in her life our senior winter formal, our wedding day, and on the day, you were born, she would want you to wear it tonight, the night of your winter formal and of your birthday, happy birthday baby girl," dad gives my shoulder a squeeze and kisses the top of my head.
I turn around and hug him "Thank you dad," Just as I step out of the embrace my phone chimes with several texts. I grab my phone off the vanity and check all the messages. Three of them were from my NC friends wishing me a happy birthday and the other two were from Sel and Jen telling me they were on their way and that I should hurry up to get there with them.
I reply to my NC friends saying thank you and I'll text them tomorrow to tell them how the ball went, but my Cali friends they don't know it's my birthday today as I've not told them, but I text them saying that I'll be leaving shortly.
"Well, sweetpea I think it's time you hit the road," just then dad phone chimes, he fishes it out of his pants pocket and looks at what the notification is, then puts it back in his pants pocket. "Just in time too, your carriage awaits you, baby girl," he turns around and leaves my room to head outside. As confused as I am I follow him to see what he's talking about.
As soon as Dad and I step outside, out in front of the house stood a Cinderella horse drawn carriage strung with blue and white lights. Two white horses stood at the front of the carriage with the driver dressed in blue and silver. Surprised I turn and look at Dad and he holds out my purse for me.
"I think it's time Cinderella went to the ball baby girl."
"You did this dad? But why? I don't understand."
"You told me you were going to make your own way to the formal and with it being your birthday too I thought why not send my baby girl off to the ball in style."
I gather some of my dress in my hands and run up to Dad and give him a hug only a daughter can ever give her father. "Thank you so much Dad you didn't have to do this, but I love it thank you."
Dad kisses the top of my head and lifts my head to look at him, "anything for my little girl let me have a couple of pictures before you go." Dad guides me down to the carriage and he take some pictures of me standing beside the carriage, with the horses, and he even asks the driver if he could take a picture of both me and dad together.
Dad assists me into the carriage and makes sure I'm comfortable before he takes a couple of pictures of me in the carriage before it rides off to the ball. On the journey to the mansion manor house, I pull out my phone from my purse to text the girls that I am on my way and expect a huge surprise for when I arrive.
The ride to the ball was a lot smoother than I thought as I know from experience living in North Carolina that carriage rides can be quite bumpy. Arriving at the venue the driver helps me out of the carriage and he gives me a hat tilt, climbs back onto the carriage, and pulls away.
Looking up at the venue I can certainly see how beautiful it all is now lit up and decorated. Hearing music playing in the ballroom I head in the direction to join everyone at the ball to see how it looks and to see what everyone thinks of it. Walking down the steps to head into the ballroom and seeing the final look, my breath is taken away, it looks even more magical than I ever imagined. Before I could step foot into the ballroom I am swarmed by my friends with their dates.
