Savannah P.O.V

Chase hands me back my phone after I see what he's set his name as. I smile as I read it he can be so sweet without even trying. Hearing everything Chase went through today I can't believe Candace would be that vindictive. It seems like stalking has gone to the next level nowadays.
Chase drapes his arm over my shoulders, and I lean into his hold as we look out onto the lake. "I can't believe she would stoop so low just to what control you, or pressure you to get back with her?"
"It doesn't matter anymore sweetheart. I have made sure she will now stay far away from you, me my family, and our friends. If she doesn't then she'll be taken to court," he says with such confidence.
"I hope she does stay away; you don't deserve this chaos. So, how was your guys night last night? Did you get up to much?"
We get into a discussion where Chase tells me everything him and the boys did last night. I tell him what me and the girls talked and did during our movie night. We laugh over the picture I sent him and his reaction, and the threat he gave to the boys if it was me who sent them pictures. I almost fell off the bench when he was about to kill Greg when he realized it was Jen who sent Greg the picture. I asked Chase if he meant what he said in the text and he confirmed what I had hoped. He said he meant every single word and he will fulfill each one of his little fantasies with me.
"So, what is it on why you and the guys wanted to meet up with us desperately today?" I ask him with a comical tone in my voice.
Chase digs into his jacket pocket and pulls out a smallish box and hands it to me. "I don't know what Jen told you about what happened today but as I told you I was in a jewelry store and that's because I wanted to buy you a Christmas present."
"Oh, Chase you didn't have to get me anything for Christmas, you already gave me a birthday and a first date I will never forget. But thank you I know I will love whatever you bought me." I lean in and kiss him on the lips. After I gave Chase his kiss, I went into my jacket pocket and pulled out a long slim box, and handed it to Chase. "Don't be mad but I kinda done the same thing, I know it's not much and such short notice, but I saw this and thought of you straight away."
"Savannah, sweetheart I want to say the same thing as you just said to me that you didn't have to but thank you. I know I will love it and I will make sure that this will be the first gift I open tomorrow. Unless you want me to open it now?" He asks me.
"I have an idea at the stroke of twelve we Facetime each other, wish each other a Merry Christmas, and open the presents at the same time. How does that sound?" Chase thinks it over before he says three words to me.
"That sounds perfect."
The six of us spent another hour in the park before we went home to spend Christmas Eve with our families. In the evening Dad and I went and helped at a local homeless shelter for a couple of hours. Handing out hot food and warm blankets to those in need. I even sang a couple of songs to help lift their spirits during the holidays. This is what we have always done on Christmas Eve ever since I was a little girl. I plan to continue this tradition with my own kids in the future as this helps teach the value of life, a lesson I have lived by since my first visit to a homeless shelter.
We stopped off to grab a pizza on our way home from the shelter so we could watch our Christmas Eve movies. As soon as we got home, I placed the pizza out on the coffee table while Dad set up our first Christmas Eve movie of the night 'It's A Wonderful Life.' Snuggling myself under a blanket and eating pizza I rest my head on Dad's arm and enjoy watching one of my favorite holiday films. Once It's A Wonderful Life is finished, I put on the 1994 version of Miracle On 34th Street. Dad and I polished off the pizza and enjoyed a nice glass of eggnog each as we enjoy this quiet holiday tradition.
It was almost midnight after Dad, and I finished watching our movies and we both decided to call it a night. Walking up the stairs together I kiss Dad on the cheek, and I wish him a Merry Christmas and I head on down the hall to my room. Once I'm in my room I grab the present from Chase out of my jacket pocket, walk over to my bed, put on my bedside lamp, go back and turn off my bedroom light, and go back to my bed to get ready for my midnight call with Chase.
Just as the clock struck midnight my phone lights up signaling an incoming video call. Putting in my air pods, and connecting them to my phone, I accept the call and I wait for it to connect before I can see Chase's face fill my phone screen.
"Merry Christmas Savannah," Chase says to me as the call connects with the smile he saves just for me.
"Merry Christmas Chase," I return the same special smile I have just for him back.
"How was your Christmas Eve?" Chase asks me.
I tell Chase about everything I did from when I left him and our friends at the park. I tell him about what we did at the homeless shelter and what songs I sang for them to lift their spirits, and I told him about what movies Dad, and I watched when we got home from the shelter.
"Wow, sweetheart that sounds amazing, and very humble of you and your dad giving back to the community by helping at the homeless shelter. It sounds like a lovely tradition to do every year. I would love to join you and your dad next year to volunteer too, that is if it's okay of course."
"I would love for you to join us next year. Tell me what did you and your family do for your Christmas Eve?"
Chase tells me that he and his family drove to Marina Del Rey to watch the Marina Lights and Boat Parade and then drive to Riverside to view the Mission Inn Festival of Lights before heading to church for Christmas Eve service. I asked him if they do that every year and he replied saying the light displays are different as it depends on who is doing a charity donation and what charities they are. He goes on to tell me that both his mom and dad put their heads together and picked what two to go to as a few in the area was doing charity donations but the two they went to mean something to them and my family personally. I asked him what he meant by that, and he said six words I never expected him to say.
"They were for cancer awareness charities."
"Oh, Chase that is amazing, thank you and your parents for that my dad and I are very appreciative of your help to finding a cure for that terrible disease."
