When the song finishes, I look out at everyone in attendance to them giving me a round of applause. I step to the side of the microphone and take a bow and I give the band a clap as well with their performance.

With a smile on my face and everyone still clapping I make an attempt to get off stage to be stopped by Greg and Lucas.

"What are you guys doing?" I question them to see what their intentions are.

"You're not getting off the stage just yet," Greg nudged me back onto the stage gently.

"He's right Sav, get your cute little country butt back on that stage and sing something else." Just as Lucas finished his command he was hit in the chest by Greg. "Ouch, fuck man that hurt," he looks at Greg rubbing his chest with an almost murderous look on his face.

"Dude if Chase heard you say that shit, you'd be dead," Greg states looking over Lucas' shoulder to see if Chase saw what just happened or if he could read lips.

"Guys look I appreciate what you're trying to do but come on this is my formal too," I state to them just wanting to enjoy the night and not make it about me singing.

"Sav look just sing one more song we'll record it, and it could go towards the scholarship. Sing the modernized version of Mrs. Penny's favorite song since she's here." Lucas makes a valid point as me and him look in the direction of where Mrs. Penny is standing. Thinking about what he said I reluctantly agree.

"Fine but this is the last one," I tell them sternly that this is the last song I'm singing tonight. I head back on stage talking to the band to see if they know the song I'm thinking of and counting my lucky stars they do.

Heading back to stand in front of the mic I look out at the crowd, "Hope ya'll don't mind if I sing another song for you?" Everyone cheers and it's close to deafening, "Well this song goes out to one of the teachers present here tonight, so here it is Mandy Moore's version of Stupid Cupid."

The crowd cheers and the band start to play the opening. As I get into the song, I see people dancing and having a great time, as I look over at Chase who is still leaning against the wall, I see some girl approach him. I wonder who it is and what it's about.

Solely focusing on the music, I don't think much of what is going on with Chase right now. As the song goes on, I see out of the corner of my eye Chase leaves the ballroom with the same girl who approached him a few seconds earlier. What the fuck is that about? All I know is that I couldn't wait for this song to be over with so I can get off this stage and find out what the fuck is going on.

When the last note of the song played, I smiled, took my bow, and gestured towards the band on stage for them to take their bows. "Hope you all enjoy the rest of your night and have a Merry Christmas," I say into the mic before taking my leave off the stage for the awards ceremony and the DJ for the rest of the night. Once off the stage I head towards our table and ask the boys where he went.

"He went outside with Adelaide don't know why but he said to stay here he'll be back before you know he was ever gone," Jen informs me. What the actual fuck? He leaves me whilst I'm on stage and with another girl. No not having it.

Ignoring their advice, I go and try to find Chase and to see what the fuck is going on. I walk towards the balcony where we stood not too long ago to see more of the grounds in the hope that I find him. It didn't take me long to find him when I got onto the balcony, but I was not expecting to see what I was seeing. Chase is standing in front of someone, and her grubby hands are all over him.

Without thinking or knowing who it is I feel like I want to cut a bitch, I rush off the balcony, holding onto my dress running to where they are standing. When I reached them, I am dumbfounded by what I am witnessing.

What the fuck is Candace doing here? And to really bring it crashing down what the fuck is she doing with her arms around Chase?

"Come on Chase baby you know you miss me, and you miss this," Candace says as she glides her hands down the side of her body. "I know you know you want me, and you know I need you," she grabs hold of his shirt and kisses him.

"The fuck?" I am frozen by the sight of the guy who I thought I knew, and love kiss his ex right in front of me. The sound of my voice startles the couple, Candace still leaning into Chase. The shocked look on his face when he saw me says everything I need to know, he then pushes her away from him like he's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

"Savannah!" Chase starts to walk toward me as I try not to cry in front of them and try and calm down my breathing to no prevail. He stops right in front of me, and he tries to take hold of my hands, "Savannah, please listen to me what you just witnessed was an innocent mistake, you know I would never do anything like that to hurt you intentionally."

"Save it Chase," I say snatching my hands out from his grasp, "I know what I saw, I heard enough, I've been played like a fool before, never would have thought I'd be played and embarrassed like this again, especially by you." I turn and start to head toward the building, I can't be here anymore.

Arriving back in the ballroom I see my friends gathered around the table with concerned looks on their faces. I grab my purse pulling out my phone and order an Uber to take me home. "Sorry guys but I'm going, I don't wanna talk about it right now but tomorrow I might."

The girls stand from their chairs and give me a hug asking me to text them later and to let them know I got home safely. Before I turned to leave the boys stood up to give me hugs as well as wishing me a happy birthday. Yeah, what a way to end my birthday celebration. Heartbroken. Happy Birthday to me.
